  1. I'm going to laugh about that for a while. I'm going to publish a book about the things I've seen engineers do for/to fish tanks. Whatever classes you need for that degree, common sense is not among them. Good luck with the stand. I'd never do it, but I've seen it done and it worked well. It should be a really nice tank. still laughing
  2. If you can get someone to get them to you, I just unpacked some gorgeous ones... and I've got girls to go with them.
  3. Thanks for the number. If I ever meet Mitch I may have to buy him an answering machine. What about "Gary"? Who is this? I want a well-made tank. I have made two requests for quotes so far - one from Calgary and one from Edmonton. One is a higher end "do it all" sort of outfit and the other doesn't actually make them at their shop but they farm it out. My preference is to deal directly with a high quality builder that doesn't drive a Porsche. Is this Gary? Thanks for all of your comments and thoughts so far. As an aside I have started to shift my rock from the 180 to the 135 - I am going to try to take the 180 offline and get the movers to take it to Calgary. My fish look confused. This is not any fun at all Jeff We build in-house at Elite Aquatics and we can do pretty much anything you want (polishing and what not). Give me a call 253-8123. I don't drive a Porsche... yet.
  4. Sensi-Seeds, one of the biggest cannabis producers in Amsterdam, uses huge tanks full of oscars and arrowana to fuel their hydroponic systems (and these systems are HUGE). Their reasoning is that you can consume the plant at any stage of development with no fear of chemical poisoning.
  5. I've got the Pro Series in.
  6. Wow, did those ever turn out nice! Thanks for giving them a great home, Connie, you rule!
  7. This little slayer's a G. platysoma and very cool indeed. He's out most of the day, then grabs a bunch of empty (killed) hermit crab shells and bricks himself in for the night. Neat.
  8. He's for sale. I need $40.00 for him. Think about it though, its a mantis you can pet then watch destroy squashball sized hermit crabs. How cool is that?
  9. Home security never looked better. Who needs a rottie when you can have a loyal mantis? Anyone want him?
  10. Are these little eely things whiteish with a pinkish front and have two little black dots on the front? Do they move like hell through the water with no real preferance as to upper/lower part of the tank? Where did you get the rock?
  11. Christian, you should see this thing. It died, but I've got it preserved. I'll try to get some good shots of it.
