    hi

Thank you all My wife has read this thread and is now allowing me to go larger without giving up any other aquariums as long as this is the last one I get. If you could only get one aquarium what size would it be?
  2. I said second or third. I love fishing (mostly catch and realese) and swimming Dean

    hi

(standing up in front of his peers) Hi my name is Dean and I'am a freshwater fishaholic (the peers stand up and reply, Hi Dean. then seat themselves) It all started about 2 1/2 years ago when my wife brought home a tiny Beta tank frome the neighbours which didn't want it anymore, I rolled my eyes and laughed at her. About a week later she brought home a Beta to put in the tank. Ok kind of cool. A couple of weeks after that I decided to toss 3 white clouds in there too. Oops over stocked. I guess I better get a 20 gal so I bought one stocked it. I was walking by a dumpster and low and behold there was another complete 20 gal just sitting there so I brought it home. Christmas 2005 came I decided to get a 29 gal. By now all the neighbours know about my newly formed addiction and one of them gave me another 20gal. Soon after my sister gave me a 15 gal. And just recently I have aquired a 10 gal. All complete systems, had to get a new heater hear some filters there ect. There is a 130 gal that has caught my eye but my wife says I have to get rid of all of them first if I want the big one. I just cant give them away help what should I do??? (Dean sits down bows his head in shame with his hands folded awaiting a responce from the support group)
  4. aquarium salt has been added... I think the ph is way off it should be in the 8 range not 6 so now i'm thinkiong maybe i should get some crushed coral to help raise the ph and water hardness. what do you think?

    HELP

I gave a neighbour a 20 gal with 2 african cichlids any how his wife way over fed them at some point earlier in the week. when I went over to look at his tank was cloudy white you could not even see the other side, he said he cleaned out all the extra food and changed 50% of the water, I thought first I should test the water the ph was at 6 same as the tap water here, the nitrite was at 3.3 so we did a 25% water change every 2 days until the nitrite went down to zero the ph didnot change at all. ok now one of the fish has developed a fungus like growth on its side so we treated it with metafix for one week with a 25% water change at the end of it all, the fungus is now gone. but the same fish just sits there hardly ever moves kind of rolls on its side inbetween the rocks and only comes out for food the other fish like helps him to the surface with its nose what the heck is going on here??? can I save this fish? What do I do now? arrrg help me.....please. tanks for your help dean
  6. Water Onions do they flower I was told they do and I'm wondering what do I need to do to get flowers? I have 3 in a 20gal and they are growing like nuts do I need to trim them? How do I care for these? Any and all info appreciated. Dean
  7. Lost today after a year and a half of faithful swimming service Frootloop (as named by a 3 year old ) the White Cloud was found at the bottom of the tank eyes and guts gone. I think Moly the Sail Fin had apart in her untimely demise.
  8. Name that fish eh? How bout Phat Cat?
  9. I plug my equipment into the power bar in alpabetacal order eg, 1st Air Pump, 2nd Heater, 3rd Lights, ect. this way when I need to unplug something I know exactly which plug to pull out no more guessing or pulling all of them to figure out which is the heater or whatever it is I'm trying to do. You could put them in any order you like or, you could also label your cords what ever works for you. Dean

    heaters???

I would not dunk them unless they were unplugged, and then I would watch to see if they take on water. Ty. If they do take on water is it possible to get said water out with out destroying the heater?
