    Hello

WOW long time no see, how has everyone been? some of you may have noticed a little disappearing act from me this summer. Things have been super busy and I thought I would just do what I could to keep things going on the home front. Yes I still have all of my fish, no downsizing happened this summer (thank dog) The fish have been a little neglected but everyone survived. I am sure a ton of things have changed in the last few months and from what I see online here things look great. Good job tanker, and mates. Unfortunatly due to family getting older I dont have as much time as I used to, so I have to leave the CAS, and hope to be able to return in the next year or so. I am going to try to come back to AA and begin helping others again. Hope everyone had a great summer and I look forward to meeting the new members that have joined while I was away. HAS ANYONE heard from ICH lately? (TONY) Buddy if your still in the country give me a hollar.
  3. The snook looks like he was posing for the picture. He has a big smile
  4. Glad to have you home Tony!! Hope we can get together for a night before you head out again. (no pun intended) Call me buddy!
  5. I haven't turned my lights on for a while. Was away on vacation for stampede wek and our friends said they didnt turn the lights on at all. The salt tank downstairs has its lights on a timer so it was hitting about 85 degrees, to try to combat that I am only running the Actinics right now. Watching everything very closely.
  6. A yahoo newsgroup where you can get rid of stuff you dont want for free and in turn find something you need for free. Works great. my wife has gotten rid of a ton of childrens stuff as they are growing and we have gotten a ton of stuff that we needed.
  7. I leave mine alone. Never had a problem with them. When I do maintenance in the sump I scrape them off and they just come back. No worries on them as they are really just filter feeders
  8. I am going away for a week. Leaving Saturday (7) and returning next saturday (14th). We have roomates that will be watching the tanks while we are gone, problem is they know as much about fish as I do about cars (not much) Basically I am in need of someone who is willing to give me their phone number so Bill (roommate) can call if there is a catastrophe in the house. other than that you shouldn't hear from him. thanks in advance.
  9. Hey look at the smarts on this board!! Right on thanks We had a LARGE dragon fly die in the grass in our yard the other day. He got added to the other one we have.
  10. Dragonfly, Damselfly?? is there a difference?
  11. Actually thats not a macro but a shot from half an arm length away. Thanks for the comments!
  12. So my camera isn't nearly as good as ohter members here and if it was I bet I still couldn't pull off what you guys/gals do BUT I did get these AWESOME shots. Quick story...My Daughter (Anna) pulled this little guy out of our pool, we were letting its wings dryoff while we got some pictures. It did fly away for a brief moment but then came back to land her finger again. here are a couple pics. The last picture is after it came back to my daughter. Dragonfly's are way cool!!
  13. Because I have to transport water a long ways to the tank and I put the 2 ACs on the same power bar as the heaters, I just turn off the power, pull the caps from the filter , and for the hour it takes me to do the wc, I don't have to listen to 2 impellers sucking air. Eating yellow snow might kill you, poking butter up a cougar's @$ with a burning stick might kill you, even being told by your employer that you have to transfer to Edmonton will surely kill you, but your tip didn't even leave an owwee mark. :well: Hey share some of that stuff Harold! Didn't know you found the good stuff -roll-
  14. Baby NLS to start if they are that small Refractometer or Hydrometer? is for checking salinity in your tank.
  15. Yeah it seems t be fixed now. I couldn't even check this post when I made it. Not sure if the Mods knew or not so I thought I would TRY to help
  16. Trying to check a PM or send a pm I get an error message like this Fatal error: Call to undefined function: member_rank_img() in /home/aacaf/public_html/sources/ipsclass.php on line 5907 TANKER: Sorry I couldn't pm or email you on this as these are the messages I get.
  17. That sounds to be normal wear, most problems come with corrosion over time, ussually not to big a deal to clean, sorry cant find a link right now
  18. It may be a parasite. The first picture has two red marks on its body and the third one looks like gill disease. Do you have an airpump? Are the fish breathing heavy, gasping for air, sitting on the bottom of the tank?
  19. Action pictures. use a fast shutter speed. But maybe dont listen to me as my pics suck
  20. I agree Tim, there are knowledgeable people on MFK but swimming through all the clowns to find them is frustrating, at least here the clowns make sense
  21. I think you should put the camera down and stop making the rest of us look bad!!
  22. I have to disagree with the NLS having Copper in it. I have been feeding it to my reef tank since I started running it and it hasn't effected any of my corals, not even the ones that end up falling on the mushrooms or even the ones the shrimp take and I think if it had copper in it the shrimp would be dead for sure. Can you get a fan moving to lower the temp of the tank? Also you say 84 without a heater what does it drop to at night when things are cooling off? The food that goes into my tank is NLS, frozen shrimp, Reefroids, and phyto. The only problem I find is my sun corals haven't been doing so great but I think it has been more of a direct feed issue.
  23. Apple snails LOVE the greens, I used to have them and breed them successfully. They are big pollutants (?) Clean water and plants should do the trick, also a few algae tabs wouldn't hurt either.
