I am moving my black ghost knifefish and 3 upside down catfish into an 80g tank. I was looking for some suggestions as to what else i should stock the tank with.

Do you mean taller plants? I have quite a few plants in my tank, about 9 species and 3 of them that are right to the top that have to be trimmed regularly. It is my sagataria subulata and my java ferns that get the staghorn the worst.

well i really dont want to rip out all the plnats. I think i will just keep up with the co2 and ferts and see how it goes

i have 5 ottos. I need to know what causes the algae or i willnever be able to stop it from coming back

I have been having some major troubles with some staghorn algae lately. I cant seem to find any good info out there about what to do to stop this algae from growing or what imbalances cause it. I have a 33g planted tank. I have a 30" corallife dual strip with a toal of 36w. I have been battling this algae for a few months now. I have trim plants and all that but it comes back. I do weekly 50% water changes. And recently i have added pressurized CO2 and a dry ferts schedule to the tank. I was hoping the CO2 would finally defeat this algae, and when i first hooked it up it kill some of the algae and seemed to keep it at bay. But recently I've noticed it seems to be comin back a little. I run about 30ppm of CO2. Can someone please help me out here?

ok so what if i got rid of the pleco and one oscar leaving me with just one oscar then got a convict and a green terror?

well i got a big piece of driftwood and a few pieces of slate, so i have made a little cave rocky area with a few hiding spots then there is the driftwood and i put together some more slate on the other side for hiding. I also have quite a few fake plants and a couple live ones. So i did go ahead and get the convict. He is doing fine the oscars are leaving him laone. Unfortunately the oscars are still fighting each other. I might have to get rid of one of them.

well i plan on getin a convict at least 3". The larger oscar is a pretty aggressive but i've heard the convicts can handle there own. Im not sure if i am going to but i would like to give it a try

2 oscars, 2 id sharks and a pleco will be overstocked when they get to full size. Oscars will be around 12", pleco the same or biger and id sharks can get even bigger then that. You will have a hard time keeping the water in good condition, if you can mangae to keep all those fish full grown

i have an 80g tank running an ac 110, I am slo getting a Rena XP3 for this tank. I do weekly water changes of 25-50%. It is currently stocked with 2 6" oscars and a 6" pleco. I plan to get rid of the pleco it is just a matter of finding a good home. Do you think i would be able to fit a convict in there or is that opushing it?
