  1. it's not. It, like the black arowanna, looks kinda drab when adult.
  2. Yeah, it is a nice fish, isn't it. Oh wait... you didn't actually say anything on topic...
  3. apparently they can look almost like jerky and still recover.
  4. Where did you get that crocea from? I have been looking for one smallish, and have yet to find them under about 6"
  5. I call him the sperminator...guess what he did. The tank is still cloudy.
  6. To tell you the truth, I believe some species waffle a bit on their wet needs, going from salt to fresh(ish) on a whim in estuaries. This one, Echidna nebulosa, is from the red sea, hawaii, eastern africa, costa rica... you get the idea, water quality and salinity will fluctuate.
  7. another post, another forum maybe? :>
  8. Now that is a sweet bonus
  9. Or, alternately, scrapping over a chunk of squid. Quite the characters. Male and female, their fights are almost always simple openmouth charges, no harm no foul.
  10. IMHO more flow the better, to a point. A 70 on a 27 hex ought to be just fine, they may just have to learn to deal with the increased flow.
  11. I knew what was up, tortured Albert, and am stunned there was some under-handedness. (If that is a word)
  12. Do girls really really want to see jello clots in men's back hair? I think not. I would imagine that would likely accomplish an indecent exposure charge, or perhaps even gross indecency... :P
  13. The mixed seafood (uncooked) from superstore rocks the Qasbah. It has shrimp, squid, octopus, mussels, and clams. I chop it up, mix in some sempron and cyclop-eeze, and bobs yer uncle!
  14. only a select few are entitled to review vendors, sorry. Don't shoot the messenger.
  15. The boy has had a dozen or so white clouds in with his FBT, and he shows absolutely no interest in them whatsoever.
  16. I'm sorry, it has been so long since I was a FW guy, it is *86.5* the tanks were kept at. This was my bible when I was battling ich, and after implementing the advice within, never had it come back: http://www.skepticalaquarist.com/docs/health/ich.shtml Which you probably already read :P
  17. I found keeping my fw tanks at 82.5 with a dash of aquarium salt cured my ich ills incredibly fast.
  18. Gold Aquariums is currently stocking chinese perch. Siniperca chuatsi, no pricing yet.
  19. I keep a chopstick next to each of my tanks. They slide in between the blades of the impeller perfectly, and a little spin: off we go again.
  20. I don't know about crosshairs or thermal, but I do know for certain their eyesight is polarized.
