They will be fine the clean up crew hope it's a small tank cause they get lost in a big one ya have to stare and they tank and watch for them to dance

The 1st crab not sure what he is what colour are his eyes?....if they are red I would "rock" him more than likely a gorilla crab The second one sounds like a porcelain crab but usually they are white and tan but it sounds like a filter feeder so he sould be harmless. And worms are always a good thing they keep everything clean :thumbs:

Well I put in a chunk of zuchinni near the top and after a day he came out but when I lifted the lid off ....poof gone straight back to the same spot :boxed:

If it sat for 15 yrs I would tear it all apart and redo all the silicone probably shrunk and is pretty dry

Well I left him over night with half of his body out of the water and he still will not come out I touched him with a knife and he squirmed so he is still alive....in all honestly I have only seen him 3-4 times in a year

Like the topic says I have a pleco in a log that has lots of hair algae on it and I want to boil it. It is one of those plastic stump ones and he is down in the root of one. He is pretty big he's about 5" or so long finned albino BN. He is hanging on with all his might. The end on the root has a small hole that i can see the tip on his snout, I stuck a stick down and jabbed him in the nose a billion times, tried pushing him out with lots of force thought the stick was going through his head, and i took him out to the garage and give him a shot of air from the air compresser...nadda. So the last 4 hours or so he has been hanging upside down out of water above a bucket of water and he is still to stubborn to come out. I feel guilty and dip him underwater every so often to give him a chance to swim out. I can see about the inch of his tail I give it a jab and he tries to bull dog deeper into the hole. I know they can live out of water for a long time I had a big one that jumped he survived out of water for between 5-8 hrs before so should I leave him overnight maybe he will drop into the bucket?...I'm outta ideas...anyone?

Yup all the time in my salt tanks I got poisoned by some zoos a few years ago and ended up in the emergency room overnight, don't wanna go through that again I use the regular powered surgical gloves just rinse underwater quick before putting my hands in the tank, whem moving around rock and such I use the big heavy duty elbow length Coralife gloves

Can't go wrong with good ol clowns, firefish, royal grammas, clown gobies, rainford gobies, yellow watchman, redhead, or a catalinas. For corals depends on the lighting most likely stick to sofies mushrooms, ricordias, zoos, leathers etc they require little light and do good in a small tank

I used to feed mine when I 1st got it a few years ago haven't fed him directly in about a year and half he will grab what he wants out of the water I feed the the tank water changes and reef bug about once a month. The sweepers have never came out on mine either

I think you better remeasure that plumbing I don't think it would 3" That is the size of hose fuel trucks use to unload gas at service stations so it's is probably 1-1.5" Not sure on the pump most pumps I've seem work in GPM unless it is industrial which shouldn't be used in aquaria but I could be wrong, If so 4800 GPH works out to 80 GPM so it might be a little underpowered for a tank that big unless you are going to supliment it with powerheads. If you want to slow the pump down you put a bypass ion the return with a ball valve to limit how much is bypassed make sense?

Once you get fry vaccum them up and put them in a floating tupperware container and raise them in that till they get good size. Do a water change couple times a day by dipping down 1 corner into the tank for water exchange make sure no babies swim out don't use a mesh breeder net the rest of the fish can suck them right through it....don't ask how I know
