how long does the tank have to be running before you can livestock and plants?

i am in the same boat, so i am going to follow!

i know they can be aggressive towards eachother.... it will just be the puffers i was hoping for two.. but can try 3! and I have many salt water tanks so cleaning often isn't an issue! lmao!!!

can I put more then 2 in an 8gl biocube?

you won't find much in a good skimmer for under $200. I have a 90gl salt and do not run a skimmer on it. water is fine! other wise I am sure I can find a hang on the back coralife skimmer in my basement for you for $75

I'll get a pic and post it tonight. it's the typical ugly thrown together style fish tank! still no water in it as i have to re-enforce the shelf and drill a few holes for the power cords. What are these glow fish i keep reading about? I do want an otto and aquatic frog... will they eat shrimp???

i went to big al's petsmart and got a airpump with a sponge attachment thingy! Then just went to petsmart and picked up regular aquarium gravel for the tank. no planted tank for me.... not this time anyway.. just wanted a fast set up before the boss says no... so I will be taking it in today!!! The hood has 2 bulbs that screw in.. right now they are the incandecent yellow, i'l prefer the bright white though.... what kind of shrimp can I get on here?! I was looking at the sunrise guppies.. they are kind cool...

i wouldn't mind a few fish.... was thinking about an aquatic frog... something to look at. no decorations...i'll go to big al's and see what they have for a cheap airpump... i really do not want to spend more then $50 for everything on this tank. I have the tank, heater, light (hood) can get flourite for free....what else do I need! list please!

my boss will get pissy if it's noisy... lol this whole thing is a strech but i am running with it.... if i want plants and go with flourite do i need a filter? I already have a heater! what else do I need?

i was told I don't need a filter just a maxi-jet for water movement...???!!! and stay ontop of my water changes!

how long do I have to let the water/sand cycle??? can that be turned into a planted tank? can someone give me a link on where to look for types of lighting? I only us T5HO and metal haldies for saltwater!

no I do not want an air pump... I was hoping for an aquaclear 20 to create enough movement and air. I'll post an add on here to see if any one has a small internal filter.... should I just use that aquarium rock on the bottom... the colored stuff?? saltwater is so much different.. I can do that no problem! lol
