  1. Sweet nice and high too to see the bottom dwellers
  2. Did you just set that tank up?....maybe wasn't cycled yet
  3. I do "try" to get my livestock from the non chain stores but I never need anything and if I do my favorite places don't carry what I need at the time, same goes for drygoods the chemicals and the test kits I need I order out of J&L and ship them here. And for anything else I work 9-5,6 sometimes till 7 the chain is there and open. I do go to the chains to "look" because they do have a larger selection but as for buy not usually.
  4. Ok ready??? 2.Yellow tail damsel Royal gramma 3. Yes it is an open brain (Trachyphyllia) 4. green star polyps (Pachyclavularia sp.) 5. The one on the left not looking well some sort of Euphyllia (Hammer, frogspawn, torch, candy cane) the one on the right is it hard or soft? hard- some sort of acro soft- looks like a devils hand (Lobophytum sp.) or some sorta leather here is a good site for searching for stuff http://www.liveaquaria.com/
  5. Just bbs? or ground up flake? or ground up NLS?
  6. Ok after about 10 tries I got one of my female sunshines to spit her babies and wow is there a lot I never expected them to be that big. I have them in a well cycled 20G with lots of crud on the spong filter and a bunch of swollen up NLS on the bottom lefteover from a previous fish. I did remove mom cause one other time I left her in she ate them the next day. I do have frozen BBS I will be feeding anything else I should do?
  7. Once again awesome pic.......going to have to get you over to my house for some salwater shots .....I suck at it
  8. Didn't end well he croaked
  9. Just scrap them off they will be fine. As for moving take as much of the water as possible, but take the water out first be fore anything so it is nice and clean then remove the rock and corals and toss the sand bed out and buy some new livesand unless your going barebottomed. The sandbed can carry alot of nasties in it when it is stirred up releasing nitrates and gas pockets that can crash a tank. HTH
  10. Ok went to Petsmart met a fairly knowledgeable girl(smarter than me :boxed: ) she told me infact I had dropsey so I'm treating for such now with Maracyn2
  11. Good with water changes he has been in there for 3 weeks he came from aqua giant :boxed: I feed nls small pellets have a look I think it's bloat starting to pinecone and eyes bulging lost almost all his color
  12. Just regular run of the mill epsom salt? in the pink (I think) box?
  13. I have one of my sunshine peacocks has been hiding under the rocks for 3-4 days he comes out at feeding time but I don't think he eats anything. When he came out today he was looking pretty fat he had lost alot of color but his scales are not standing straight out yet. I have had a bloat a couple times with my rainbows but before I knew what it was they were dead. What is the best treatment for it?? do I treat the whole tank?
  14. Nice fish Did you get a pic of that bright orange guy from the auction and the sulphur head? those were my favs
  15. If I'm going out in the bush where there is the potential of getting lost I'm taking gas not hand sanitizer
  16. Here try this one http://youtube.com/watch?v=K70JzbIgVIE&amp...ted&search=
  17. Yup aqua giant on 50st is open looks like they have more stock then the WE store
  18. Those are some pretty nice rics...and the name you thinking of that one coral is a favia/favites or closed brain, moon coral, pineapple coral goes by lots of names you can remember 1 of them
  19. OK big changes took out 3 bad ones and redecorated....better??? Sorry I suck at taking pics doesn't help when the is 500W of MH is the same room and I just noticed in the 1st pic you can see the relection of my reef and yellow tang from across the room
  20. Well thanks for the advice I took out the 3 bad ones and tanks has calmed right down they are all moving about exploring there is a little chasing more like a darting at each other, but no biting just moving each other out of their space. As for the clay pots they seem to love them they are always going in and out of them and they like to dig all the gravel out them to make them deeper then claim it as there own so right now we are going to keep them for a while
  21. OK I'm getting at my wits end with cichlids I have a 48 gallon with 11 fish I have been trying to over populate to keep down the fighting they are all ripping each other to shreds and I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I am not a cichlid expert by any means so I begging for some advice. I have rearranged the tank a hundred time trust me it doesn't work I have giving a couple time some time outs in pails for a few days ( another wives tale) to drop them back in and within a minute attacking the rest. All fish are around the 3-4 inch mark maybe touch bigger maybe touch smaller here is their cage, you can only see 2 out of 11 because the rest are hiding Sorry for the crappy pics Not sure of all the names but I will try Most all are Aulonocara's except 1 borleyi possible 2 1 has the same attitude and same dots on the anal fin excepts its yellow/orange and 1 orange/pink I think he is a mbuna his body is similar to a lab except different color he will chase but not rip to shreds Here are some other pics The last 2 are now living in a 20G and will be for sale/trade How many should I have? do i have the wrong fish? wrong size? I do have 65 pounds extra live rock living in tubs I could easily change it to saltwater and make all my headaches go away.......trust me saltwater is much much easier

T8 will be good for a FOWLR but for a reef not much will survive maybe a couple mushrooms and gorgonian. PC's and T5 will do better but after you have a reef you will alway want more better to save your pennies and buy some used metal halides right from the start you will get there anyways. I have freinds that have had a reef since last Friday and they are already talking of selling off all their show cichlids and turning the tank into a FOWLR
