I have never used a penguin...on my aqua clears and rena...you just twist the motor off andthe impeller and shaft are exposed. then I just pull out the impeller and clean the shaft. Maybe there is someone else here that can tell you how to clean out a penguin..

I have calvus and comps in with some brevis and have not had any problems. In the wild, however, the alto's eat smaller creatures from with crevises using their sleek bodies and thier unique mouths. It works for me....I guess it is a situation where you have to pay close attention to the fish to see if they are getting along!!!!

What I have found with filters is that the impeller get clogged. I take apart my Aqua Clears once every 3 months to clean the impeler and shaft. I find this way they perform better for a longer period of time.

Walmart also carries pond stuff. I am not sure if this is seasonal though. Never hurts to check!!!

try to put a couple of females in the tank for him and he should color up!!!! Maybe you'll find some at teh CAS auction. Hope to see you there Shelly!!!!!

As a mod on this forum and after the Archive post section as well as after some consideration, some of thje posts thats were deleted show have been moved and closed. aI think that the admin can still see the deleted threads and it may still be possible to place them in the archive for future reference. I think for the future, archiving willm be the norm.

If you really want a trio of peacock , I say try it. If it doesn't work, you can always take them back and trade them in for something else. Put in something about the same size or slightly larger then the yellow labs that you have now. Maybe 4 electric blue II's (Copadichromis azureus ) Let us know how you make out.

How big are they now?? A proven breeding pair is always worth more then just a couple of fish. However, the value of a fish is really dependant on what someone is willing to pay for it.

How did the tank turn out??? What fish did you end up getting???
