  1. Dumb like a fox? :chair: Clearly the problem here is communication, you are using too much.
  2. Do you hear a rattle in either the light or the remote?
  3. Email the manufacturer and explain the problem, see if you can get a replacement remote or if they have any simple fixes for you. I have a hard time believing the LED isn't made to work without the remote. If that is the case, wow poor design work. In terms of something being fixed, there are many many reasons something electrical like that could be damaged. If you don't smell any obvious electrical smells off the light, you don't see any damaged LED's anywhere then open up the remote. Look for any damaged electrical pins, any electrical pads missing parts, etc. If you can take a high res. photo of the circuit board on the remote, I can look it over briefly (though that won't tell me if there are any damaged pins necessarily).
  4. Okay so if I understand this correctly... You don't know if the problem is: Case 1 - the light works and the remote does not work Case 2 - the light does not work and the remote does not work Case 3 - the light does work and the remote does not work
  5. Just make sure it doesn't have any "mildew" additives. Sometimes they claim 100%, but also have a little bit extra of other stuff. Bathroom / kitchen silicone tends to have mildew agents in them, window and door typically not.
  6. Kind of disappointing the waterproofing material itself sounds like the wrong type of material. Good to know though.
  7. I'm a fan of the woodwork stand. Lots of detail, lots strong character. Also, the java moss is cool, how are you getting it to grow so effectively? Mine tends to algae up after a while.
  8. Hey Jumpsmasher, have you noticed any LED dimming ? How do they do for growing plants?
  9. Whichever direction you choose - hopefully it works out.
  10. http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/showthread.php?t=872329 Color skewed, but size accurate.
  11. You can have some cuttings of mine, if you are willing to take a chance on which species it is.
  12. Anubias Nana Petite? I believe I do, though I'm not 100% certain. Mine seems to be smaller and have tighter growth than just normal "Nana".
  13. Oh who was it.. Someone on AA used those LED flexible rolls to make a cost effective light setup for their shrimp rack. I bet you can buy those in lengths of 6' and longer. Just wire em together in parallel and have a half decent power supply.

Yea, I've had problems with the small end glass diffusers - hit and miss with the quality, too large on the bubble size.
  15. Ha, that little thing in the corner is a shrimp? It looked like a snail or something the first time I saw it. Those little shrimp really blend in, despite being so colourful.
  16. Yea I couldn't see any Juvi's in that video, I guess my eyes aren't sharp enough! How does Sulawesi Shrimp compare to Neo's for algea eating?
  17. Ok cool, if there is one thing I can't stand its air pump noise.
  18. So I recently got an update from angelfins, which lead me to trip across this: http://angelfins.ca/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=28240&products_id=2556 An airpump that claims to be nearly silent. I'm not sure I believe that claim, and can't find any actual third party review of the product. I generally avoid airpumps, unless I can put them in soundproof boxes, because of their noise. But if this one is truely an improvement, maybe? Any thoughts, or first hand knowledge? What do you do to limit the sounds of your aquarium?
  19. You two should post more photos, both documenting your success and showing off those neato shrimp.
  20. Mini will look really nice in there!
  21. Wow, those are really intensly colourful!
