  1. I asked fellow hobbyist and AA member if he would like to come take a few pictures of my fish. They turned out great. He is a excellent photographer I must say! Thanks again Ryan Mahe
  2. What kind of oscar? If your looking for a tiger, just get one at a lfs. Just make sure you pick a healthy one. Here are a few things to look for when buying a single oscar out of a tank of a ton of them. Look for one that has no nipped fins. Look at the oscars head, make sure there are no tiny holes forming. Oscars do have pits on there head, so don't confuse it for hith. Look for a active one. Put your finger at the top of the tank, get the one that races to the top of the water looking for food. Look for a oscar with all of these traits. My favorite are the oscars with a light green color to them, the wild variety. And the reds of course :P
  3. Herichthys carpintis, or a Herichthys cyanoguttatus.
  4. Not a good mix at all. The labs will not last that long with those two guys. I would not put any africans with a oscar. I tried a large venustus once, and he just got beat bad. I think having the two labs with the oscar and convict would be a good idea for a dither fish though.
  5. Its done! Congrads Scott. Can't wait to see pictures of the rays in there new monster tank. Very well done
  6. Hey Koffy, Why do you want to find him another cichlid tank mate? Oscars are not schooling fish, they do not need company or tank mates to be happy. You have a adult tiger oscar that is probably quite content living by him self. He is the boss of that tank, so when you add another oscar, he attacks it because he is defending his territory and his tank. How big is your aquarium? I can recommend some tank mates based on the size of your tank.
  7. Is there anyway to post multiple pictures in one post rather than having to make new posts? Thanks
  8. I would suggest getting the seachem stability as well. Its a very good product, and I would much rather suggest it than then the aquaclear inserts. Do the 7 day stability treatment and that will help quite a bit.
  9. They keep that nice blue for a while well they are young. When they are in adulthood, they will resemble a silver. But more black coloring. What else was down at golds and riverfront? I am planning a trip down there soon. How much was the aro fro what size?
  10. Yeah I guess so. I am into SA/CA cichlids and other large fish. So I am always exited when I get to go to Calgary, they have everything I keep. Also, the prices are waaaay cheaper at the LFS in Calgary.
  11. If your coming to look at the Edmonton stores, don't expect much after coming form Calgary. You guys have waay better freshwater hands down  I love Golds, riverfront, pieces, and your Big als , does not even compare to ours. In Edmonton, we do have more slat water stores though.

If your going to upgrade tanks, you should do it pretty quick. 30 gallons is a small tank. I don't even recommend having a mbuna group unless you have a 4' tank. So at least 55 gallons.

Your a little overstocked. Demasonis are aggressive mbuna, so 16 of them would need way more space and tons of places to hide. I think you should be fine if you upgrade to a 75 gallon or so, I would also get some nice rock work for them to have lots of hiding spots. I am curious, what were your tank readings?
  14. That sucks man. Where are you working operations?
  15. I will not be attending. I have no need for yellow labs, albino BN plecos and plants :bang1:
  16. going to use? I sealed the tank back in july -roll- I used polyurea. The guy I went to changed his mind on keeping it a secret now we now polyurea works well as a lining. So if anyone is interested in knowing who sealed the tank for me, give me a pm/
  17. Hey, its Neoprodigy from MFK. That is a awesome tank. I love the fish in it too
  18. The sump is working great. I still want to put another drain on the other side, but its working fine for now. Bluecan: He came from a FH breeder. I was impressed at his stock.
