  1. Today it seems like the right side of its body is paralized or something. Its not lonely it has lots of friends it swims with usually. I'll try bumping the temp a couple up, but its been in the same temp of water for years.
  2. I have had the same problem, then I figured out it was a heater burn. It did heal in time, I used about half dose of malafix for a couple days
  3. I should think not, it is still a Juvenile. Clown loaches take almost as long as humans to mature. lol It's probably about 13 in human years. Is it breathing hard? Does it have a hard time righting it's self when you approach it with a probe? What about at night, does it come out then? Does it eat? It's breathing seems normal and is still eating, night time doesn't seem to matter that I can see. If you go near it, it will move but doesn't seem to care if you touch it. I don't know, could be worried over nothing?
  4. any ideas? My clown loach just isn't himself the last few days, just moping around and sleeping alot on his side. I know the sleeping on side is normal, but allday lets get real. All water tests a-ok and all other fish great. He is about 4.5 Years old and aprox 5", is it just his time to go?

    Hello

What I mean is just about every species, not sub-species, lets not get carried away. I keep irridescent, columbian, bala, silver-tipped Nope, I meant species when I say there are 10,000 of them. For eg. you are keeping four species, three are catfish all of a different genus and one is a carp, closely related to goldfish. What you probably mean is Group or Order which is probable. Thanks tips, you don't have to criticize it was just a statement. Last time I checked I don't have a degree in marine biology, so maybe next time I should say I've kept 983 species then if that suits your likings.

  7. I feel really dumb right now, but as computer litterat as I am, forums are new to me. A list of definitions would be fantastic, like what does PM meen and BUMP, etc.
  8. I believe that they had some at aqua giant on the west end a couple of weeks ago. They usually keep the oddball loaches and catfish that most places do not order, if not they will definetly try and get them for you. They are usually really good to me when I ask nicely.

    Hello

Hello there, my name is Richie and I am new to this forum thing. I have been interested and very much active in the hobby for about 20 years now. I do hope that I can help out in any way I can with advise or anything as well as gain new knowledge as much as I can. My biggest interest is in Freshwater sharks (catfish) but I have tried my hand at about every species out there. My second favorite is red bellied piranhas and how very characteristic they can be if you pay close attention to them, they are quite humerous. I only wish that I had more time to watch them, I own and run a very busy business but try to stop and watch my fish as much as possible. All of lifes stress and misery seems to just melt away when you watch fish.
