  1. Chickacoo is an awesome pot hole lake. One of my personal favorite spots b/c of the brooks. I'm surprised you didn't catch any rainbows that are stocked also. I haven't ice fished this lake myself but the lake in the spring/summer is always fun for fly fishing, but be aware that lake is on a bog and you'll be having fun trying to get yourself out of the muskeg if your not careful. I find belly boating to be the best method for fly fishing this lake but looks like ice fishing for the brooks beats getting wet :P. Great fish I must say, beautiful colors on them.
  2. Been reading on moss walls that a screen with 8mm holes is good.
  3. Heres some pics of my beauties. Got 5 in my viv but I have one in QT. Its not looking to good. But we'll see if it makes it through or not.
  4. I have 6 85% orange galacts come in from UE
  5. I wont be getting my frogs until Friday. But im going to let the tank grow out for a few months. As for the water feature yes there will be water I just working on it right now. I had to silicone my drift wood in place before I added the water.
  6. Ive been working on a Dart Frog viv for the last few months, and ive gotten a lot of riccia from people here on AA so I thought id post the result of my viv. Enjoy
  7. I remember when I had my tank going I got some clown loaches and they did crap. find some wild caught loaches I found some lemon tails and I think your snail problem would go bye bye
  8. You maybe right about the research permit, in the past ive had trout in a aquarium and from talking with the trout farms to keep trout for a recreation activity you need to have a licence. But it doesnt hurt to give them a call right and 10 bucks for a piece of paper then say 1000 buck fine is a whole lot better in my books
  9. Id be careful with some of these. I know that yellow perch are illegal to transport. Now if you are wanting to take some native fish talk with Fish and wildlife. Now someone said something about rainbow trout. YOU need an licence to keep them. It only costs 10 bucks a year and an extra 42 bucks for the application fee. http://www1.agric.gov.ab.ca/general/progse...f/all/pgmsrv112
  10. hmm now that would be sweet. are they distructive of plants or no??
  11. I saw those snakeheads at big als the other day and I was wondering. how well would 2 snakehead be in a 90 gal heavly planted tank be?
  12. Sorry to hear that Paul... I have a clown loach too and id be lucky to even see that fish for 2 seconds in a week. A few weeks ago I thought my cat did some fishing ( yes ive caught her doing it) and she got my loach but a week later there it was swimming first thing in the morning when I went to work. What size of tank are you thinking of getting?
  13. Thanks Jerry but I think ill keep with the vals I have now I think there just wonderful spreading about on the top of the tank. But ill keep that in mind when I deside to start another tank. I was a bit shocked when I trimmed my vals I measure them and they were a total of 40 inches from root to tip, and my Ancharis ya they were 36" from root to tip. Must be doing something righ eh . But again thanks for the offer on the Vals Jerry ill definatly keep that in mind.
  14. Just a question on trimming stem plants and Vals. Is there any dos and donts when trimming? or just have at it and trim them back to what ever length I want???
