  1. I actually thought it was the other way around Quinn. They are hard to keep alive until 4" because they have very weak immune systems and the slightest parasite takes them down. Then after they reach 4" they are strong enough to survive. The problem is getting them to the 4" mark. Just my 2 cents
  2. I am really torn about keeping one. I really would like to but I just don't really have the space right now. I will have to see. If I do keep one I will white tank treatment it and use a 10,000k (as Neil suggested) to try and tan the blue right out of it. That is how it will get that Platinum colour.
  3. Thanks Quinn. These guys are quite amazing looking. Very difficult for a photograph to captyre the true sheen that they have.
  4. I love these guys! I have 5 mature Vampires that I am hoping to get breeding. They are very hard to find now as Brazil has shut down there Pleco exports.
  5. Being delivered to my place on Friday.....I hope!!! *Crossing fingers*
  6. The only thing I need to make the tank complete is 2 Amphilophus Lyonsi ans 2 Amphilophus Macracanthus!!! I got the Lyonsi I can get some for ya in the very near future if you are interested. I have someone coming to Van from Edmonton on the long weekend. I don't know if he would be willing to bring them for me. He is Digital Monk on here. Like the Thanksgiving long weekend? Sheesh, looks like I'll have to order more then! Yeah he's coming here to visit family for the long weekend and picking up 3 FX5's while he is here. Do you know how much he is paying per filter? I might be able to get ya a deal. He and 2 other Edmontonians jumped in on my FX5 group order. $235.00 all in. We ended up with 53 filters being ordered. We cleaned out their Edmonton warehouse!!

  9. Thanks again everyone. The only thing I need to make the tank complete is 2 Amphilophus Lyonsi ans 2 Amphilophus Macracanthus!!!
  10. It's actually a matter of too many fish so they don't have territories. I find that when I have about 5-6 less in the tank then the fighting starts. Just have to keep it over the tipping point to keep the aggression down. I got the idea from watching other videos on You Tube. I saw so many New World tanks with tonnes of fish and no fighting that I thought I would try it. To my surprise it works!!!
  11. Thanks guys. The water is a little dark from the tannins from the new stump I just added.
  12. Hey there, Just thought I would post up a vid of my 250G New World tank.
  13. Thanks for posting the picks Charles!! The 250G tank contains 4 Midas 4 Green Terrors 3 Flowerhorns 2 Synspillum 2 Argentea 2 Cryptoheros Nanaluteus 1 Red Texas 5 L240 Vampire Plecos The Argenteas are the smallest at 5" while the Midas in the pics are the largest at 9".
  14. The only thing that you would need to watch is the heat given off by 400w MH. If they came froma gym are they pendants?? If so unless you have a lot of clearance over yuor tank they will heat your water too much not to mention the heat it will generate in your room. My understanding is that most salt water people use 250w and that 400 is just too much for a freshwater set up. Just my 2 cents.
  15. Hey Snaggle, are you 100% sure that the dimensions are correct(72x18x18)? Cause if they are then your tank isn't 150G. I have a tank almost exactly the same (72x18x19) and it is a 108G long. Not trying to bring bad news but just thought I would bring it to your attention.
