I have four running and use the sponge and then fill the rest with a mesh bag full of ceramic rings to get lots of biological filtration.

I've been reading in the journal section that some people are using Schultz's aquasoil instead of flourite/laterite. Is this stuff an actual replacement or will there be problems down the road? Does anybody have any long term experience with it? Thanks Jon

I have been reading on the forums that raising your Co2 or dosing with excel will get rid of algae. Why is this and what dose of excel (don't have Co2 yet) should I use. Thanks, Jon

I have a planted 20 gallon tank with several tetras. For my algae cleanup crew I have 6 oto's and was wanting to add one or two SAE's. What is their temperment and would it be a good fit for the tank? Thanks

What kind of epoxy resin are you guys using and where do you get it from?

Aquagiant will make you one while you wait, they made me one the other day for my 20 gallon and it was 11 bucks.

I recently bought a 24" T5 light strip from aquagiant for a 20 gallon planted tank, it has 2 24watt 10000K bulbs, it seems very bright. Just wondering if these bulbs are too bright or not. Thanks,

I am starting up a 20 gallon tank, how many fish could it hold. The fish I have to choose from (already own) are 8 lemon tetras,8 cherry barbs, 7 congo tetras, 2 glowlight tetras, 3 gold tetras, 6 zebra danios, 3 corydoras punctatus, 1 serpae tetra, 1 black skirt tetra. I would like to use these fish to some degree in this tank. What are your thoughts. The filtration is an aquaclear 50

I used Target bonded topping mix , available at home depot. They use quikcrete in the video which I just found out you can get at Canadian Tire. As far as pigments for the concrete I just found a place in Edmonton that I'm going to go check out and see what they have. I'll let you know.

I'll try and get some pics up in the next few hours. The first one I made (for the 20 gallon) was more of a test project to see how they turn out. I didn't paint it or use resin. The background for the 75 gallon is more elaborate, I made cutouts in the background to hide filter tubes and a heater. For this one I plan to use some concrete pigments to color it and then seal it with a resin to avoid the whole ph problem. I currently have 2 coats of concrete on it and and now I have to wait until I find some concrete pigments and resin, if you know where I can get these let me know.

Aquagiant has the jebao 304 caanister filter for sale, does anybody know if it's good or not?

Thanks for the info, I'm going to get a 55 gallon tank this weekend and put them in there and up the frequency of water changes. I hope the sick angels get better , I think I'll try some antibiotics.

I change the water every 2-3 weeks and the tank is a 33 gallon

I have a community tank with 7 angels 4 silver dollars and pleco, a couple of the angels eyes are bulging pretty good and one of there's abdomen is swollen, it seems like it may be spreading to the other fish. What is wrong? and what is the best treatment? Thanks

I have a 55 gallon african tank setup that has blue green algae covering the rocks and part of the glass, how can one erradicate this stuff. It seems to grow back within hours of me cleaning the tank.Any suggestions?
