  3. gina, nice comp!! how big is this guy?? i used to have one and he was about 7 inches. they have one of the coolest shapes when it comes to malawi's. are you ever lucky enought to see this guy hunt out smaller prey? its fun to watch. -paul
  4. well i missed last months pic so i thought i would post now. sorry for the lousy pics...i was playing in the sand be fore i shot these. "er shi" is now eating prawns with new life spectrum 4.5mm pellets shoved inside. he has lost his darkness on the back but has developed a red hue all over. he is about 11"-12" now. comments(suggestions) welcome:) thanks for looking, -paul oh, i know my photo skillz are weak...so dont make fun.

  7. hey all, just thought i would give you an updated pic on my arowana. he is eating like a pig and putting on length and weight. he has grown about 2" since i got him less than a month ago. he is eating mainly NLS pellets. i also give some live foods just to keep him happy. i have posted the old pic as well so can see the difference in over all bulk this has put on. i would also like to say thank you to neil(RD) for his expertise in the food department!!! 1 month ago...   12. woke up to see a couple of my fish in full dress, thought i would share some pics. pics were taken under regular tank lights.....enjoy o. lithobates (WC) c. borlyei (yellow fin) s. fryeri -paul
  13. the biggest factor in my tank is the amount of waste created. one i started the NLS i found my fish where creating way less waste. when i do my water changes i find myself vacuuming a lot less -paul
  14. i have to a yo-yo and a clwon(krusty) that always scrap. when they do there colour changes as yours does. IMO its jsut a fight for dominency(spelling). HTH -paul
  15. what kind of camera? and settings? i like the fryeri pic. -paul
  16. flagyl(metronidazole) is the same as the seachem stuff. i dose with the the tablets for humans. i just crush them up and disolve in tank water than add. be sure to use the same mg/gal as the commercial stuff. HTH -paul
  17. they are just slightly off the zero colour of my test kit, so i call them zero. i also just did a large water change. i have 2 eheim 2217, 2 rena xp3 and 2 AC500's on my tank. and i do weekly water changes so the water quality is good. as for the pop eye, i have now isolated the fish and started treatment. i hope she re-coups -paul

HELP i've got pop eye in my tank. no, not the spinach eating sailor. my female b. nototaenia has a "popped" out left eye. has anyone had this before and found a good teatment?? here are some pics...not my best shots but they get the "pop" accross water, ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 0 ph 8.0 temp 81F and no this is not an injury. i inspected the fish and there is no sign of attack or collision with a rock. any help is greatly appreciated :hug: thanks in advance, -paul

  22. i got most of my rock from a 5 year old setup. would cut doen in the cycling process? how much longer do you think i should wait to add any livestock? i just keep getting conflicting advice(opinions) and im trying to form my own from the ifno givin.. thanks, -paul
