One 2217 on a 60 gallon IMO is not enough . My Bitaeniata's like it on the calm side so I just have the outlet breaking the surface . It also stops from pushing around my leaf litter .My Cacatuoide's in my planted tank don't seem to care if there was a high or low current. Blake

In this past week iv had a huge algae takeover ! I don't know how ta get rid of this stuff ! Like any other iv had algae in my tanks but not like this .... It's taking over my moss and rush ! Anyone know the best way ta get this out ? Blake

Are you sure she has not spawned ? Yellow is a breeding dress . Or it could be that she wants too but can't find an a place to do so Add coconut shell caves ! I find they work well with these guys Blake

I have to say red ! I have both double red and just picked up a triple red . As for it not coloring up anymore then it already is ! That is false . My wild cought seemed to get a spot on the tail every now and then all the way up till he died . I don't think yer male is fully grown yet And think the dorsal fins will get a bit longer and color up more . Nice looking fish Blake

Iv had all kinds of fish do that . The worst was my clown knife ! Even with a phonebook on the glass lid he would bolt up and snake it ! Some days I'd come home and the book would be near the edge so I knew he was working at it ! The funniest was a rope fish ! Got out and scared the the crap out of my girl due to it's snake like movements on the floor . Fish are awesome ! Not the brightest ! But still awesome Blake

So yeah ! I lost my male Cacatuoide thee other day but before he went he spawned with my females ! Not one but two females ! And it must have been the same day or there after as the hatching happen a day after each other . This is the first batch Iv not yet got a pic of the second batch as there are just too many roots to look through ... I'm excited too see how these guys turn out as the male was wild cought and the female is a double red . IMO I think this first clutch is a rather big one ! Blake

Well I woke up this morn to my male Cacatuoide totaly tangled in The roseafolia roots ! Now normally I clip these away as I don't care for the look but him and a female spawned in there and thought I should just leave it alone as I'm sure they choose that spot for that reason ! Uv never seen a fish get that tangled ! I wwas going ta take picks but my first reaction was maybe I could save him . Well I hope the female is a good mother so I can get some fry from that male Blake

I will only deal with rod . The other guy is just .. Ehhhh lol . As for the sinking of the wood it dont bother me much as I just set a big stone on top and even too look at don't look that bad . Sure it will look better when the stone can come off and the wood will stay down on it's own but for the price I'm not going to complain . The large piece I got might be going in my planted tank and just put moss on it as I think I'm going to order more manzanita pieces as it better suits the blackwater environment . Blake
