  1. It is the sword plants I put it a couple of weeks ago I had a 24in strip light on my 15 gal tank I just added a 36in strip to it as well to the 24in.. Water quality is a little wanky gh is 20 kh is over 240 ph is 9.5 and everything else is normal..
  2. Could anyone tell me why the leaves on some of my plants are yellowing? And how I can fix it?
  3. Lol well it just so happens I did pick one up so far so good seems non aggressive I have him in with 2 firemouth cichilids a bichir eel 2 synadontis and 2 plecos and now I'm wondering if I should get more gobys or more firemouths
  4. Ya they are hard to find info on!! Thanx though
  5. That does help a little are they an aggressive fish? Are they territorial? Do they school? what are good tank mates?
  6. What can you tell me about this fish?
  7. And the females dorsal fin is more rounded right to tell them apart?
  8. When I had my butterfly (awesome fish!!!) I had it in with my ram, bicir eel, angels, and I think I had lemon tetras in there too...I never had any problems.. Although they are both top dewellers..
  9. So I got 2 firemouth's last week and they were doing fine yesterday I noticed one was getting beat up.. So I moved the aggressor out of the quaratine tank into my 50 gal... What is a proper ratio so that doesn't happen??
  10. Thanks you should have seen my scrap paper trying to figure this out I guess I've been out of school for too long!!!
  11. So I need to convert this info into measurments I can use... The direction are for 125 -150 g per 10 000 L of water... I need it coverted down to 15 gallons and 50 gallons of water...
  12. I could not find any HCL.. Will the pool pH down work with sodium bicarbonate work?
  13. Very interesting... I kinda now want to know what the difference is
  14. I really like the melini's!! Where did u find urs? My 2 peppers school most times...I was under the impression that cories were schooler and should be bought 3 or more? or would they do fine on there own?
  15. Lol lucky guy!!!I do have mine on gravel.. I haven't had any issues with there whiskers, and I have had them in there for almost 4 yrs now..I I started out with 3 but one died a few years back.. I thinks its time to add some more!! They are so much fun to watch way more interesting then my synadontis!!! Just need to get my water quality under control and panda's here I come!!!
  16. Aquarium illusion have some apistos, they are a very attractive fish!!
  17. Ya I have 2 peppers in my 15 gal right now and was thinking of adding some julies and maybe some panda's... But the panda's might be too small...
  18. Kinda a silly question will cories school with other species of cories? I'm thinking they will but thought I'd ask...
  19. I get that u are very experienced with water chemistry..if I like to understand something fully before doing something to my tanks... Like I said earlier the RO machine is not hooked up and it only produces small amounts of water over a long period of time so it isn't a option for my 50 gal tank I will look for some HCL
  20. Jvision I'm a little confused I though KH is how the water buffers acids? And if that is the case how does adding acid going to change the KH I can see how that would lower the PH...
  21. Laurensdad I get that I have to lower the KH how do I do that?
  22. I'm pretty sure there was a reason we unhooked it... I think it had to do that it only filtered a small amount of water over a long period of time... Now that would work maybe for my 15 gal but reality is I don't have enough room/containers for my 50 gal to warrent setting it up... Why could I not add the KH booster?
  23. I'm actually no to sure, we use to run our water thru a RO filter, but I think we just run it thru a basic filter, we don't add anything to the water at all...
  24. I have nothing foreign in my tanks everything is from the pet store, in the tank that I'm testing is a 15 gal and then I have a 50 gal as well. Then only thing that I have been adding to the tank is pH down, and that would explain why it is not making a difference. I am using well water so that probably would explain why its so high.. Now the test kit says to use. Nutrafin KH booster..what do you think about this product? And by lowering the KH this will allow me to lower the pH?
