  1. Those ventrals won't get any better so it's time to cull.
  2. I'd do what I did, mines been running for 2 years problem free & I didn't ruin the background. It took some time & effort but it was worth it.
  3. I had exactly the same issue 2 years ago when I installed a background from Patrick. I used the same silicone that you did & my fish reacted like yours. It was the silicone. I installed a wet/dry filter in behind my background & I used a fairly large amount of silicone to do it so I gave it a full week to cure. I put the sand , bio media & water in & everything looked great. I added a few fish & within an hour I had my first dead fish. At first I thought the silicone just needed more time to cure so I completely emptied the tank & removed the sand & bio media & let it sit dry for 2 weeks. While it was sitting dry, the glass developed a haze & I wasn't sure what it was. I didn't think it had anything to do with my water because it had only been in the tank a matter of hours & my other fish thrived in it. After 2 weeks I filled it back up again & even with the tank filled you could still see the haze on the glass. I didn't add any sand or bio media this time, I just circulated the water through the sump. After a few days the film on the glass started to lift in spots. Within a few days it was peeling off in small sheets so I installed a fine sponge on my prefilter to catch it as it peeled off & I rinsed it out every day & sometimes twice a day. I also changed the water completely once a week & in 3 weeks the haze on the glass was gone & I wasn't catching anything in the prefilter sponge anymore. I added a couple tetras & they lived so I added some new filter media & new sand. The tank has now been running 2 years & remains problem free. The film that developed had to be from the silicone, I've installed other backgrounds since with clear silcone that I knew was aquarium safe & had no problems, the only factor I changed was the silicone....just my 2 cents.
  4. Those would have been my stock. Check with Fairdeal, I believe he has some breeder size fish. Aquarium Central also carries them.
  5. I would do a drip into the bag or bucket over the course of 12 hours.
  6. I didn't realize you worked there Cursive Duck. Tuan has been getting his philippine blue stock from me. The cobalts he got from another source though.
  7. You can find those from 2 sponsors here, either Aquarium Central or from Fairdeal. The blue cobalts I saw at Aquarium Central about a month ago were a philippine blue silver that some wholesaler stuck a fancy name on but their color was nice.
  8. I've got a pair of angels called Money & BIG MONEY!!!
  9. I've got a pair wilds here that have small red spots throughout their body but those are not german reds, they're raising a spawn now though.
  10. Platinum Platinum marble Silver Zebra Smoky Smoky Pinoy One I can;t say
  11. The snakeskins are a genetic mutation of a philippine blue platinum & philippine blue platinum marble that had a common wild parent. That's about all I can tell you about the genetics. They'll be available in a few months, I need to have about 3000 before we release them & I'm a couple thousand short right now.
  12. This is the new snakeskin angel that Neil Oyama, Carol Francis & myself have been working on for the last year. We have it in seven different colors at this point. I have more pictures but I'm not very good at resizing pictures so this is all I'm posting right now. Thanks Jayba for resizing these. These won't be released for a few months yet but Neil & Carol thought we should start showing a few pictures of this new strain of angel. GetAttachment.bmp
  13. Good stuff, glad it worked out for you. Is your fish eating again?
  14. When I was raising fish in Red Deer in the early 90's I got a knock on the door & was greeted by the RCMP. They asked about my high utility bills. I told them I was raising fish, the officers looked at me like I had 3 eyes. Then he said I could either let them look right now or I could leave the house until they could obtain a warrant. I told them to come in & have a look. They had a look in the basement & the rest of the house & left. I never had anymore problems with them. My utility & water bill were 3 times the household average as I recall because I was running a drip system, special filtration for city water & a boiler. It's a good thing I'm on well water now, I'd hate to see what my water bill would be now.
  15. That's exactly the result you're looking for. Remember to remove the worms from the tank.
  16. I would if they look stressed. What dosage did you end up using?
  17. I wouldn't panic treating all your tanks but I would start by treating every tank that fish has been in. I'm not sure about your shrimp & snails because I've never tried treating in a tank that contained either. My bet is the snails would survive though.
  18. Sweet Jay! I want some when they're ready to go.
  19. If you can't find any PM me, I may know where there's some reasonably close to you.
  20. You can get it from a vet. You may also be able to get it from a farm supply store like UFA, I believe it's used as a pig & bird dewormer but I'd check with the vet first.
  21. I agree with Val on this, & even if you can't see any other infected fish in your tank it doesn't mean the others aren't infected. By the time you notice the worms hanging out of the fish, the worm is already at it's reproductive stage. In order to treat your fish effectively they need to be treated in a bare bottom tank & treated with the powdered form of Levamisole at a dosage of 0.1 gram for every 10 gallons of water. I disolve it in warm water & then add it to the tank. The importance of using a bare bottom tank is because the Levamisole usually doesn't kill the worm it only paralizes it. You need to remove the worms expelled by the fish at least once a day. I do a complete water change day 3 & redose. On day 6 they can be moved back to their tank. I usually treat the the tank they're going back into if it has gravel in it as well to get the worms that may have been hidden in the gravel as well but that's a personal preference. You also might want to redose in the bare bottom tank in 30 days to insure you got them all. After treatment the fish should start to eat again after a few days. I try to feed on day 3 to see if their appetite has returned. When the fish has expelled the worm it leaves a wound that the fish should recover from if treatment wasn't left to long but death can occur if it was. Good Luck!!
  22. He might have some left but they're not very large.
  23. That would be a pinoy paraiba that you're looking for.
