  1. I don't think they should be legal to sell at a store like that.
  2. Awesome fish, I have a large one too. He is super active and seems to know me, he doesn't like other people, just me. I added a few RBP to the tank and he rules over them but rarely touches them. Very cool fish, awesome personality.
  3. Don't forget black bar silver dollars.
  4. Lots of us keep rays, I have a couple castexi rays myself. It'll be nice to see some black rays on the market soon! Where do you like I'd love to see you rays sometime.
  5. Eggcrate, cut it up and slide it into the front of the filter. I used this when growing out my old arowana. The eggcrate can be cut perfectly to pop right into the outtake of the filter.
  6. Water change, add salt, heat up the tank. Divide him from the other cichlids.
  7. I'd like all three of these fish, too bad I don't have the time for more tanks. You're a lucky guy, enjoy the fish.
  8. Where the heck did you find an Aba Aba?
  9. So are you talking about the actual move your about the water quality etc? If you are talking about the move I have 8 rays and am by no means an expert but what works for me is using a laundry basket. When I moved my 20" female motoro to my 400 gallon I used a laundry basket and worked really well. What I did was had a BIG rubbermaid container (which was big enough for the laundry basket to fit in) with about 8" inches of water in it. Then I took the laundry tub and put it into the aquarium on it's side. Then I gently guided her unto the side of the laundry basket and then tip it right side up and lifted her out. Then I just placed the laundry basket in the rubbermaid and off I went. Then I slowly added water into the rubbermaid to make sure she was acclimated to the chemistry of the new tank. Once that was done I just lifted the laundry basket out and then placed it into the aquarium and tipped it on it's side so she could swim out. I have done this now quite a few times when moving my other motoros and when moving my retics but I used smaller launder basket with the retics. Scott is the real expert but I thought I would put my two cents in Any pics of the 400 and the rays?
  10. Think you can get your hands on some driftwood like that for me?
  11. x2! You have a wicked community of fish there, Armatus, rays and a big puffer? Is that just a puffer that has a mild attitude or is that a peaceful species? I love puffers but I've never been able to keep one.
  12. The Castexi rays from scott? Any pics of the other rays?
  13. Yeah lucky 13! I am looking into getting shares in the TNT supermarket in Calgary!! LOL All motoros?
  14. They are agressive but most CA cichlids are, aslong as they have space and a territory of their own they'll be good with most other large cichlids. They get around 10" to 16"+ depending on their enviroment so I wouldn't keep them in anything less than a 125g. If they do breed most of the time they will kill the other tank mates but not always.
  15. I'm not looking for an excuse, I just really want a few gars and I haven't ever had luck finding one.
