  1. some stores are the only ones to find the right home for fish when ,[other stores don't care about size :grr: ] when it's to late and there a foot or bigger.Give the fish a chance to live . if zoo's would house them,like a rescue,this fish would live longer.[like S P C A } teach us and others the right way to enjoy this hobbie. Are we not for the life of fish in all there beauty? :well:
  2. use divider at first [till nest]. stay at 80 temp,firm no filter, salt,once a week water changes only, [with baby's NONE!only few drops through 3 monthes] low light.they might not bread,can try other female. pale females take more of males color.as soon as female drops all her eggs ..take her out!leave male till baby's are swimming horazontil[3 to 5 days] LOTS of hiding places for female. 10 gallon is perfect, NO substrate when breading.
  3. I agree with Toirtis dwarf's with dwarf's inch a fish[ fish MAX size] 1 gallon of water![Max 6 inches=6 gallons for that fish]

  6. RULE OF THUMB ONLY: DO YOU USE AQUA SALT? WHAT IS YOUR NITRITE,NITRATE LEVELS AT? HOW MUCH WATER CHANGE? [iN MY EXPERIENCE, TO MUCH HAS HIGH STRESS] ONCE A WEEK-10% OR EVERY SECOND WEEK-20% REGULARLY! ONCE MEDS CYCLE IS DONE STOP, WATER CHANGE AROUND25% WAIT & WATCH DON'T DO MORE MEDS TILL YOUR SURE THERE IS NO IMPROVEMENT. [AROUND 3 TO 5 DAYS]
  7. with meds,the FULL course is recommended with removal of new carbon in filter. [5 to 7 days] too much meds is a concern as well . need to know more of set up ect. i bought a rainbow with popeye, to late to treat,but with 1 eye he is doing great.

  11. they say salt is great for live-bearers, brackish is good with higher calcium in ther food. BUT tetras can't handel salt, only at less then half dosage,[if medicating] [plants as well]
  12. Any live plants help a little or a lot ,depends what fish ect. Rob, we should talk to kim, she posted her turtle tank. I'll try to phone her.

  14. soon they are taking all meds off the shelf. Environmental issues. boils down to this, good water quality,maintainence,nutrition salt ,melafix[primafix]temp water treatment. if done on regular basis NO SICK FISH. there are always other issues as well hybrid genes ECT. but it is a rule of thumb that really works! -ham- -ham- -ham-
  15. I've used wardley's shrimp pellets, fish love it but tank glass will turn brown . frozen krill works great as well. BUT I haven't tried NLS yet.

Less is best,what they eat in 30 SECONDS, Twice a day is good, watch them eat[for sick ones,will come out at that time] plus thats the best part you CAN over feed,possibly raise levels in , ammonia,nitrite nitrate.[if food is left in] Hope that helps.
