I had that problem about 30+ yrs ago when these filters were still the best filter on the market. There was a fine hair crack on the lid. so I used a fine layer of silicone on the lid and it stopped the air seepage. Maybe this could be the problem you have. I hope it works! Diatomatious earth is actually diatom skeletons and different sizes there may be, but your talking micron size which is smaller than this period . I was also a caoac judge and m. breeder back in Ontario. Met many top breeders of the 60s and 70s. What types of fish do you have on the go now?

I used to have ich many years ago when I purchased fish from a shop without checking other inhabitants of the tank. The cure is not meds because they actually effect your fish and some discolour everything in the tank, its heat! As mentioned the temp should be raised to 30-32c no higher, because you start losing oxygen retaining ability of the water and will stress your fish. If you look up the life cycle of ich on the computer, you can judge when its time to return to normal temps. I have learned this information over the last 50 years thru books and by using the info myself. I do not have diseases in any of my 60 aquariums. Dave

Gold and marble mix produces..gold..marble and marbles with gold I have been spawning angels for many years and this is what I have been getting. Gold and koi will produce a mix of marble/gold and some weaker colored koi. they lack the intense coloring of the true koi.
