  1. the biggest problem is my geophagus refuse to eat nls
  2. they won't eat anything but frozen worms
  3. i feed one large pinch twice a day with 6 cichlids that are 5-6"s long and it hasn't ever dirtied the tank and filters this way with other food. The fish are crapping this out in huge chunks.I think i'll sell the rest of my bucket.
  4. well i finally fed my fish all the remaining food i had laying around about 2-3 months ago, since then i've fed mostly NLS and i have to say i've never seen my tanks so dirty, the substrate was absolutely poluted with a rusty red scum which resembles the pellets and the filters are the same.So bad i gave each tank a 60-70% water change and the water was still a mess.I really haven't noticed a quality change in the coloring of the fish. When i first started feeding it to them they would spit it out and search for something else.Could it be because they are sinking pellets and they're not getting all of them? It certainly doesn't seem to be the case with the pleco as they love them.
  5. how much for a tank 6'lx30"d x 30" high?

    i can build a stand,i am a welder

i would want glass or acrylic lids to keep it sealed

can you send pics of passed tanks you have built to mantay@xplornet.com

  6. is this safe ? the water is from off of the roof of my house
  7. been looking for THORICTHYS ELLIOT how much and how big....thnks
  8. he does get bullied by a pair of severums but i made him a hide out,the others only taunt him but no real aggression. My other tank also has a severum but they really fight and there are very sharp rocks in it so thats been done.
  9. one of my severums is sick and i can't see anything external but i noticed that his black pupils looks different then the other fish,it looks gold/silver in color.this color looks deep inside the eye . He is hiding and leaning against rocks.I tried quarentining him for 4 days, added sea salt, temp up, and melafix but didn't see any difference.
  10. DOES ANYONE HAVE THESE? PLS. POST PICS
  11. SUCH A PAIN TO POST PICS ON HERE BUT CAN SEND PICS TO YOUR EMAIL IF YOU WANT TO POST
  12. about 6 months ago i placed an order at BIG **S in edmonton for geophagus orange head tapajos, these fish are 4-5's now and weren't showing any orange on their heads at all. After searching the web without any luck i sent pics to Spencer Jack and he replied quickly GEOPHAGUS PROXIMUS ......back on the net i went and i think he is right! After reading a few sites i believe they are somewhat RARE.Just the other day my female was laying eggs but the male ate them immediately.
  13. he was definately eating them ,he went on to sift through sand right after so he swallowed them
  14. sold to me as orange head tapajos but no sign of a orange head at 4"s plus
  15. sold to me as orange head tapajos but no sign of a orange head at 4"s plus
  16. well i have a female trying to lay eggs on a rock but the bigger male just vigorously eats them instantly, not as gentle as i would imagine he would if he were trying to hold them.So what is a normal behavior at this point? She is twitching and shaking but he shows little attention toward fertilization.Should i just accept this as normal behavior for first time breeders? They are biting each other, waving their tails and lip locking but mostly after he eats the eggs.
  17. this rain has forced the earthworms out and the feed is on in my tanks!!!!! they go absolutely psycho over earthworms, almost to the point of jumping into my lap
  18. I picked up my 5lb bucket of NLS from geleen today and I plan on taking pics of my fish now and compare them in a month or so to compare color. thanks again geleen
  19. A few months ago there was a member selling 5lb buckets of NLS for $70 and I can't remember who it was.I believe they had a USA contact that was shipping them up.

  22. just made it home from our Mediterranean cruise,Barcelona was our start/stop destination.I have to say that the Barcelona Aquarium was completely amazing, giant tanks with fresh (cichlids) and salt water fish and 100's of them! The big tanks had arched walkways that aloud sharks, eels stingray to swim right over you, many of the fish looked like they were actually watching us! food? This cruise is an absolute must see!We stopped at GREECE,TURKEY,ITALY,FRANCE,VATICAN,MONACO,SPAIN........The french Rivierra being my favorite followed closely by Santorini Island........Skip Athens Greece!Save all your shopping for Turkey, they make high quality knock off jewelry.....Rolex watches $20-$100 bucks. This is a must trip!!! Santorini views/pics are post card worthy on every shot and the same goes for the French Rivierra! After this trip you will definately have your fill of old buildings but they all have cool stories! Barcelona is full of pick pocket thieves so look out......my wife put her cell phone down on the table to eat at an outside dining lounge on Laramba street and a woman caring a full page note proceeded to cover her phone with this sheet that read por favor.........begging for money while the other hand was under the sheet grabbing the phone......this pick pocket thief met her match!!!!!!The very next night we witnessed this same girl trying it on another tourist where she was soon told to &*&&***&& off but she did have the phone in hand this time, these crookas work together and can disappear instantly! Laramba street is very cool and the real freaks come out at night!!!!This street is full of vendors, performers including still statue humans that come to life with a donation of a coin.....very interesting to say the least.
