  1. They pretty much hit it on the nose, I am a fan of Rena, Fluval and Ehiem (with baskets)
  2. They are beautiful, can anyone point out the breeding member?? anyone have an idea of their cost??
  3. I've personally had great experience with AC HOB's Rena XP (3 and 4) and Ehiem (various) for 50G - go with a rena imo
  4. I got it about 3 weeks ago - wont go away. I also had it about 6-7 months aback - normally agitation cleared it up. this tie it just wont go away
  5. welcome aboard - Sorry to hear about your fish bud
  6. OMG.... I love the list... Welcome to AA... cant wait to see some pics
  7. I must agree that Bichirs are great, and a few to choose from as well. The Knife will be awesome, I used to have a fire eel... just an amazing creature... dunno what other "odd balls" could co inhabit... maybe a catfish of somekind?? or a smaller ray? Jesse
  8. I would have to say yes, as everytime I bring home new fish - purchased or aquired my nephews (5 and 2 1/2) faces light up with joy and stare at them for hours with me. I also get to teach them about the new fish and if its a species we already have (like my slight addiction to angels) - they tell me about it and then run off to name it... aside from that, I'm always exitied and thrilled personally to get new little (or big) fishes... like a growing family... only the fish dont talk back... PS - grats on the neew additions
  9. I try not to think about it to much... between drinking and other hobbies running my tanks are pocket change and part of life
  10. Greetings and Welcome alas I do not know alot about the wonderful world of salt, but there are a few people here who I'm sure can offer good adivce. welcome to AA Jesse
  11. It may or may not have been a small hard ball when I was 8 or 9... something about no throwing balls in the house was strongly enforced after said incedent... oh to be young and not so innocent
  12. Yeah - Those rubber maids just gained permanent detail in storage as just in case. In over 10 years I've never had a tank leak (that wasn't knocked over by accident or smashed by a flying item) Thanks again
  13. SO... good news - the tank was cleaned up and refilled - no leak can be found... fish doing ok so far - lost my roseline shark, but got em in a pretty big tub with plants, sand and one of my canisters, starting to wonder if maybe it was one of the hoses running along the top of the tank, replaced them and I seem to be doing fine.. man what a scare when water is leaking from your tank - but my guess is that it was running along the hose then when the hose touched the tank it came across the bottom of it... No major house damage - refilled and cycled 24 hours with some prime... gonna miss that Shark, but at least the rest are looking healthy - hoping to move em back in by later tonight (just past the 24 hour mark when the temp balances out... Thanks for the tips on rubbermaids, I dont think they would have survived buckets
