Hi Harold the dwarfs and pleco I bought are doing great lost 2 of the dwarfs but that was my fault.Question that yellow spotted plec what was it agin I would love to buy another in the future if only I could tell a male from female.Do you have any Ottocinclus cats of any kind?I'm going to be down in your area tommorow evening around 7-8 will you be home?I'll call you.

My tank has 2 pumps.A Ehiem 2215 and a marineland 350.For fish I have 3 Bolivian rams , 3 Appisto Euntous, 2 Nanacaras 1Panda corycat, 6 whiteclouds, 5Harlquin rasboras, 5 cherry barbs. I would like to and a bunch of COLORFUL schooling tetras, 2-4 other S.A.Rams, 2-3 other Appistos, A CHECKERBOARD CICHLID a Lime cichlid.1 Aquedians curveips?.Some odd or colorful cats , 2 small plecos.Last would be a pair of angelfish and 2 small Kribs.The tank eventually will have a 4ft by 6-12inch island of plants in the middle and 1ft of treeroots on each end lots of caves . The pumps give a small current going round the outside of the tank.This tank is in the main living room as a divider between dinning room no wall.So what do you think to much what would be good for tetras not Congos.

Where is a dwarf lime cichlid from how big would it get in a 180 gallon tank? Would other dwarf's be compatible?

I'm in the process of setting up a 180 gal tank.After reading and asking questions I have come to the conclusion T8 are the best and most cost effective way to go .I heard T5 are not reliable and not as good as T8 in terms of k-value,color spectrum, phosphorus coatings and bulb life they run hot.I trust my source who has had very much experience with aquarium lighting. He's an electronics engineer.I did ask him about T2 lamps but he has never had experience with them , supposedly one 13-15 inch bulb puts out 960 lumens thats almost double what a 15w T5 puts out .So I'm going to use 6 4ft grow tubes T8's from Totem and if I can find a ballast for 6 tubes I'll buy it if not a 4 and 2 lamp ballast and build my own canopy.Never buy anything made in china there have been numerous problems in the past with lighting products in the aquarium hobby.I am a newbie but a wise one and also an electrician, just thought I'd pass this info along .
