Hi Beagles. Subscribers here have a wealth of info to share, and there's an impressive archive to search. When something 'new' shows up, there's plenty of exchange. After reading other forums, AA seems to be a place where people with a heart for the hobby, have a heart for the hobbyist too; thought provoking responses that are pleasant and encouraging. It makes it pretty easy to ask and learn. Be welcomed, d
  3. AC Mini impellor: 3600rpm, flow rate 100gpm... would spit out a 3" string in a second. I'm convinced kuhlis are part cat.
  4. I had two in my 18gal community tank (unplanted at the time) about a century ago. They were like two farts in a mit. The ones I had were highly visible, playful, curious, entertaining to watch like keystone kops. Never saw them swim across mid tank; always along the glass, in the corners and along the bottom. They do know how to hide. I also had a pleco and a cory so I was concerned about feeding. One went through my AquaClear Mini and lived. Yup! Found it underneath the filter carrier. A little banged up, but it wasn't diced or dead. I sill scratch my head over that one. I like their markings and I'm a fan. Thanks for the tip on where to find them DragonNecko. Never saw them in Big Al's when I was browsing there last month. I haven't been in to AC yet (don't get out much).
  5. and here I tho't bristlenoses always had a massive forest growing on their snouts... sigh. It's nose looks smooth, so likely a female?
  6. This juvenile plecostomus is 2" long, new to the tank 2 days ago along with 10 juvenile guppies. The tank hasn't cycled yet. It spends its time making laps around the glass, about 3" from the bottom -and- browsing the driftwood you see in the photo. Not interested in hoovering the sand substrate; not interested in those yummy veggie wafers either. not to say it's not feeding at night tho'. So I've tried to identify this little busy body. What say you?
