I’ve found aquarists across Canada also has a great selection of plecos, I’ve made some purchases in the past and they have been very easy to communicate with, great quality on my ordered so far.

Definitely check them out and don’t be afraid to contact local breeders as they have some great stock!!!

Depends what you call small but to me something 5 inches and smaller is fairly small, prices vary the black and white spotted ones in my pics are L201 snowball plecos, they get about 4 inches. There’s a dwarf variety L471. some other smaller varieties are l134 lepaofrogs, l052 butterflies, l260 queen arabesque, l135 wormline, l183 stary night, l129 columbian zebra, l236, l46 zebra pleco, l239 blue panaque, l004 angelicus….be forewarned once you get one you’ll want them all haha

The bn is the gateway pleco there are a number of plecos that stay small like the bn or smaller.

Well I’ve been a member of this forum for some time now but never really contributed much. ive been keeping fish on and off for 10+years, this past few years I’ve been pretty drawn towards plecos. here are some pictures from my collection.

I have heard of the egg yolk thing, I never tried it but do know flake food crushed works great! I raised a batch of dry on flakes. I took a pinch and rubbed it between my fingers to make powder and they found it no problems. I even feed my adults the same way. I have 12 that survived selling/dying/adults/tradig and now there are a few females prego in the tank. They pretty much raise themselves lol, I didn't do anything special really, usual water changes and daily feedigs...I think I may have fed them 2-3 times a day when they week a week old

Fry are more hardy than we give them credit for! I had 20+ fry survive living with several adults in a 10G tank. They are very interesting to watch grow and develope. As for plants and having more if you are close to mayfield common the dollar store there carries fake plants 2 for a buck! That's pretty good pocket change to me :-) And you can make floating plants with tem, just pull them off the stems and tie them together, that is what I used for floating plants in my tank with fry....

Hello Everyone, I just wanted to share pictures of my tanks as I have not posted any since my initial introduction. Ps. I have MTS as I have aquired 4 tanks in less than a year and I just love them! 1) 10G newly planted tank 2) 20G half planted tank, still a work in progress 3) another 20G tank, I pretty much use this as a QT tank and plant pieces of plants in there to see if they will grow 4) my 75G, no plants can survive in here as my cichlids eat them in a hurray! I wish I could heavily plant this tank :-( it could have so much potential.... let me know what you think :-) Niki

There are se nifty ideas here! Thanks for sharing! I currently use the colorful scrub pads from the dollar store in my filter, when I took the carbon out it left a gap and was looking fr a cheap way to fill it....saw a pack of 6-8 at the dollar store and bam they fit the bill...

thanks, I was just looking at the pics and realized I use to keep the water really low in all of them! I new keep them completely filled. they all look different now too...

I just HAD to point out that you should not add an electric blue jack Dempsey, it will out grow your tank and WILL mostly likely eat all your fish and shrimp by the time it is full grown. DG would be. Good choice :-)

I can't wait for this auction, I went last oct and just browsed and got a feel for it the person who was auctioning was pretty funny! This time around I plan to get me hands into it :-)
