  1. Another option for filtration would be two smaller canisters. In my 75g I use two Eheim Classic 2217's .One discharges at the surface, the other is discharging through a DIY set up just above the substrate also have Hydor ETH hooked to this one so warm water is blown across the substrate.Even with two large pcs. of wood and lots of plants I still have good flow with very few dead spots. With two canisters running it also gives me options for media set up & maintenance.

  2. Yep had them myself but the Amano shrimp & Bristle Nose got most of them did have few make it to adult form, found a couple adults flying around the house one cold February night.

You could probably just keep a eye on things chances are not too many will hatch much easier that tearing up the plants and trying to hunt them down.

  3. Sorry to here about your leak problem especially on a Sunday worst time.Your leak is probably coming from the o-ring seal on the priming pump it is a common problem. If you put in Eheim Pro 3 leaking into search it will show past posts on here for the same problem,Eheim customer support will send replacement parts to correct the problem.

  4. Sorry for your loss not familiar with SC Safe, but dealing with BBA using SC Excel I only follow directions on the bottle 5ml per 10 gallons after a > 40% WC + 5ml per 50 gallon per day after has always been enough to do in the BBA & hair algae in my 75 gallon. Was also very successful following the above in dealing with a crazy BBA out break in a 20 gallon Multi tank it was growing on everything turned pink with in 24 hrs. began to fall apart shortly after.Double dosing was not necessary in my case.

  5. Ok plant gurus do all all Aponogeton ulvaceus have a dormant phase?I have had one in my 75g for almost a year now great plant has flowered for me several times, throws out tons of leaves very quickly then slows down to where there might be half a dozen smaller leaves then takes off again throwing out lots of large leaves and flowers. Not that I mind just curious on its strange growth spurts with no dormant phase. It does get root tabs every three months and is under T5HO 6700k 2 x 54W.

  6. Huh. interesting. I'm going to have to do some research and keep my eyes open while out and about. I don't suppose Prince's Island Park has any eh? That would be too convenient.

I'm sure you could probably find some in Prince's Island Park, I have seen them in Fish Creek Park just can't remember where. I will try to be more observant when walking the mutt and report back.

Fish Creek Park at Bow Valley Ranch follow paved path south across field to the creek clumps growing along paved path paralleling the creek, most clumps were within 30 feet of the creek.

  7. Wow picked up a trio of Faowi Village bows from the CAS auction last week, today was the first time I have had the chance to see them in their full glory.

They are settled in and this morning before the lights came on with just natural light in the room they were playing in the weeds male is incredible females too. All week I didn't see them until 5:00pm, colors seem to washout during photo period. Is this normal?and will it change with time? I have read that their colors will change with lighting, mood, spawning etc.The tank does require a good trimming Java moss has grown to the size of a volley ball totally covering a pcs. of driftwood but that seems to be the place to be for the bows haven't noticed any eggs yet but I'm not prepared to deal with them any ways( fish room requires some attention)but very soon I promise.LOL

Yep sure do had two growing along the property line until my neighbor ( a card carrying tree hater) took a chainsaw to them. They are more like a small tree or bush and are native to Alberta.
