I just wanted to say that I have had problems with my tank ever since I bought my last batch of fish from Big Al's a few months ago and my whole tank has pretty much died off. Even after quarantine after purchasing, I had no signs of disease and everything was fine. What ever is happening, even killed off my pleco suddenly last night, and those guys are pretty hardy. I am almost suspecting something is up with Edmonton's water quality as I have problems in the past but usually in spring. I am going to do water testing tomorrow and also test the raw tap water...kinda bummed about my fish though, you grow attached over the years..but these things do happen. *sigh* (PS, I usually have had no problems with Big Al's stock)

Hi there, I was browsing the Classifieds and noticed what a pain it is to locate ads for my area. I have a suggestion that might make it easier to locate and would also help with organization. My suggestion is, under each branch of the classifieds (Livestock, Equipment, etc) To have ads organized by Area Code. Example: (Livestock Classifieds --> Ads in Area Code 780 --> Listings as normal) (Livestock Classifieds --> Ads in Area Code 403 --> Listings as normal) I think it would help greatly with those searching for specific species/equipment/etc in their immediate area.

I love my bettas and thought I'd post a few photos of them. I hope to branch out from liverbearer breeding and expand to betta breeding. They are just fascinating and very beautiful! Angry Bob when i first bought him Bob's coloration now I haven't named this one yet

That's too bad about your platy passing on. Sounds like she could of also been egg-bound, which is a common problem for some live-bearers. I always have another small tank on hand for births or quarantine purposes. She could of been stressed like others have suggested too. A slight increase in water temp helps with them dropping young as well. Don't give up! The whole breeding process is very rewarding when successful!

Those Mexican Giant Sail fins, have sadly, passed away quite a while ago. I hope to find them again sometime. I've posted a photo of a few of my sail fin molly males instead. Right now, I mainly concentrate on my guppies. I just acquired a 29 Gallon which I hope to be my Crayfish/Lobster tank after I repair the silicone.

Thought I would say hello. It's so nice to find a local forum for aquarium lovers. I currently have 2 small betta tanks and a 33 Gal. bow front and a recently acquired 40 Gal. My favorite inhabitants include mainly live-bearers (Guppies, Mollies, etc) and i just adore weather loaches and crayfish. They are so hard to find, but my absolute favorite are the mexican giant sailfin mollies. I also enjoy aquarium photography. Feel free to say hello!
