  1. That's actually a really cool looking set up. Very zen. I like the rock in there too.
  2. Assuming I have all the names right and what not. Haha. The two big ones are hanging out all the time.
  3. Dilly and Gilly. Milly just does her own thing. Haha.
  4. Excellent, because I'd like to keep them in the bigger tank with a cave that they've already claimed and they are comfortable in that tank now.
  5. I have a cave built for them already. The reason I ask is because I'm worried that if they DO lay eggs, the pleco or loaches or something of the like would eat the eggs.
  6. The bold is what I was thinking of moving in there as well, the crossed out one is because I wanna keep the loaches in the snail tank to do some work, and the red is what I'm looking for. As for the neons, I wanna keep them with the glowlights. Question for you specifically, Jenn. What kinda places would those cryptos lay eggs?
  7. Damn, you got some horny fish. I'm trying to get my apistos to get busy, so I'm doing cold water changes to give them a "spring rain" vibe. Haha.
  8. How do you mean? Put the paper towel on the filter?
  9. I guess a list of what's in my 55 would help those who are on the mobile version. Mikrogeophagus altispinosus / two males Cryptoheros nanoluteus / one male, two females Melanotaenia ogilbyi / group of five Brevibora dorsiocellata / school of eight Aphyocharax rathbuni / group of three Paracheirodon innesi /school of fourteen Hemigrammus erythrozonus / school of fourteen Corydoras panda Corydoras sterbai Corydoras aeneus / longfin albino Botia almorhae / group of three Danio rerio
  10. I just finished setting up a new tank, a fourty gallon. I need recommendations on what to put in the tank. I filled the bottom with play sand, and it looks wicked. Well, I like the look of it. Anyway, it's still fairly cloudy in there, so I don't have any pictures yet. Out of the fish I have in my fifty five, which should go into the new fourty? Thanks for any and all advice!
  11. Alright, sounds good. Plus, who knows, I could come home from work one day and have a bunch of fry!
  12. Oh, I should have it so only she can fit freely in and out of where the eggs are going to be?
  13. When it comes to the apistos and how they always seem to be like they're gonna breed, I'm never certain what's up with them. Last night, I noticed that he was just kinda hanging around the back of the little house, where as she's inside and hasn't come out for a while. I've tried to see if there's any eggs in there, but without picking it up and checking, it's impossible to know for sure. I don't like disturbing their environment, so I haven't check. Plus, I heard that if you disturb the area while there are eggs around, they could just kill them off. Okay... these fish are really weird. Right as I'm writing this, she comes out and started munchin'.. I wish I had some idea as to what's going on in that tank.. This picture is when I first set up the tank:
  14. I really like the look of black gravel. Especially if I were to throw in some of the dark/light blue mix, it would look stellar for sure. The best thing about gravel is how easily is can be cleaned with a syphon while doing water changes and the like.
  15. I knew the Sterbais were about 10 bucks, but I forgot the others weren't so much. Excellent.
  16. Yeah, three is what Jenn told me actually. I have one of each the sterbai, panda and albino. I would like to maybe pick one of the three for now and get a couple more. Not sure as of yet.
  17. Just in general comparison to your sterbai, the yellow was more white, but it seems as though it's just the main part of his body that has more white, where as the edge of his fins have a more yellow colour to them. As for the eyes, it looks to be just the picture, maybe he has the faintest bit of light red hue to his eyes..
  18. I managed to get a solid picture of my sterbai, finally. I heard that there's a chance of this cory being stressed. I also heard having them in groups of three is the way to go about keeping them happy. Also, I tried sexing the little guy, but it's hard to tell; may be too young yet. Judging from colours too, can anyone tell me for sure if maybe he's just stressed. Thanks, AA.
  19. There's just so many options for what I can put in my tank that as it stands right now, I want to just keep it a community tank. Regardless, I would like to keep that black gravel if I stick with my tetras, rasboras and what not. So I might just end up cooking up some gravel in a huge pot. haha.
  20. Yes. 10 min in a microwave will kill anything water-based. Stove top! Escargot for dinner. haha. You can intentionally do whatever the hell you want, I do not want snails in my tank. I appreciate your attempt to counter this entire thread, but I don't appreciate you telling me "learn to manage the tank and accept what is in it.". I know what's in the tank and have accepted that there are hundreds of snails.. all of which will pay for this devastating infiltration. As for "tearing a tank down".. I plan on relocating the tank (had you read previous posts, you would have known this..) anyway, so I have no problem gutting the tank. Also, (as stated in previous posts) I don't have much intention of keeping that gravel as my substate anyway. Since you love snails so much, want some snail infested black gravel?
  21. Like I said, I don't really like the idea of using chemicals. If I want to keep the substrate, I guess my only option to boil it. Damn it.
  22. Hmm. I'd have the gut the tank, take all the fish out, all my decor and then use this HCI? What is HCI anyway?
