How about a pair od discus, or a pair of blue rams. Most of these fish will be ok in your tank Geo System South America, I would just stay away from the medium to large cichlid group. Brad

I would want to have a hole wall like 20' long, 4' wide, and 30" deep about 1500g I would do amazon basin with tetras, discus and rams. Or the same thing but reef, but I would love to have boath one on eather side of the room :drool:

I set up the tanks with tap water, the fish where bought in Lloydminister and Edmonton. when I added the fish I let them float for 45 min the I oened the bag and added half a cup of water at a time till the bag was full then I just dumped them in. I bought the fish at :guns: Wal-Mart, and PetsMart :bang1: . I only bought fish there because they all looked healthy :well: , and that is the only place I could find the fish I wanted. Brad

I am still having fish/water problems :bang1: I tested my tapwater today, test results here, but I added the water to my daughters tank and my empty reef tank before the test. At around 8:00pm I went in to my daughters room and saw one of her cardinal tetras swimming all funny, I thought it might have been Ammonia poisoning :well: so I added a cap full of prime. I went back about an hour later and the fish was still swimming crazy :mad: , doing barrel rolls and flips, none of the other fish had any symptoms. Last time I check the water the Ammonia was 0 and the PH was 8.0 I have had the fish in the tank for over a month now all together the cardinal where the last addition to the tank the only time I seem to loose a fish is when I add new tap water. I treat the water with prime, even use a little extra just to be on the safe side. I also let the water sit out for at least 24 hours before I add it to the tank to let it get to room temp. What else could I be doing wrong? :boom: :boom: The tank progress and stats can be seen here.

I tested the water today I had about 5 galons for topup I treated the water with about half a cap full prime and let it sit out for 24 hours to let the water reach room temp the results are. -pH 8.0 -NH3 4.9-7.3mg/L inbetween the to colours on the chart that came with the test kit -NO 2 0.1 mg/L -KH 140mg/L -GH 100mg/L CaCO3 I dont know what to do about the Ammonia in the water the ammonia in my tank is curently 0.0mg/L. There is a char on the Ammonia test kit it says that if the test results are 6.1ppm and your PH is 8.0 your Ammonia is 0.32ppm. I used the nutrafin mini master test kit. Is there any thing else I can do other then buy rodi from the grocery store? Brad

I had some drift wood that was dry for 3 + years when I set up my daughters 15g tank I got some sails back :well: . I don’t have too many, right now. If they get too bad I might set up the loch gourami tank mi wife likes and put a small clown loach in there for a week. Brad

If I had an extra tank I would just qt my new fish. I want to get a qt system but some one needs to talk to my wife for me :pff: .

I am going to go to Camrose next Tuseday I am going to look for some more cardnial tetras or rumynose tetras :smokey: . should I get some melafix and primafix for when I add the new fish? Brad

I dont know if the water is fish safe I have lost 4 fish since I set up my first tank here, my main tank is still at my parents. I am most woried about my reef tank, I want to get a ro/di unit but no money right now with the new house and baby, growning up sucks :guns: , I wish I was 18 again working full time and mooching from my dad -roll- . I have tested the PH it is around 8.0 I am going to test the ammoina soon. what else can kill tetras that is the water. Brad

Right now all my fish are pets. In the futre I want to breed some fish like clown fish, discus, tetras, and corys. Brad

the water out here smells like dirt and leaves a nasty ring if it sits any where for more then 6 hours. Brad

I still dont know why the fish died, every other fish in the tank looks healthy right now. I am going to swich from tap water to sore baught water and try and find some of this stuff from Kent Marine Black Water Expert. and also get some of this Liquid Discus Buffer. I think whn my daugter is older I am going to set her up a larger 75g dicus tetra planted tank :hey: . Brad

I lost two more neon teras this weekend , so I went to lloydminister to get a ph test kit. The ph was 8.0, :boom: I also got some ph buffer. I am going to get some ph down this week so I to keep the ph at 6.5. Brad

Is there any one eles from Wainwright? I want to know what to do about the water out here. should I just buy water from extra foods? Brad

I want the atinics so the tetras will glow for my daughter, she is only 3 months old after all. :smokey:

One of my cardnal tetras died today, I think it was the one that was squished buy the lady at petsmart, on the south side. I added CO2 today I hope the plants will do better. Brad Should I cut the light by half? I was thinking about changing at least one of the lights to atinics. There is no bg on the tank because I want the back to fill out with plants.

Thanks, The tank has been set up for two months. I put fish in it three weeks ago after adding the fist half I tested the water and there was no ammonia so I added the seconed half of the fish and plants. Brad

Update: One of the Broze Corydoras died last night, I think it was from a fungus. The one eye was white, I think that is what it means. I split the bunches of plants up a little bit, I will post pics later. The plants in the tank are 2 bunches of Lilaeosis Brasillensis, 1 bunch of Altenantnera Lilacina, and one bunch of Vais, I don't know the type. Brad

I set up a new tank for my daughter -roll- , at least that is what I told my wife. Setup; 15 gallon, 4 x 18w t5 lights, Filtration AC MINI with ceramic rings and sponge and a AC150 with a 50w heater and filter floss. Live stock; 3 Neon tetras, 3 Cardinal Tetras, 2 bronze Corydoras, 1 Salt and pepper Corydoras. I dont know what the plants are right now. I will update the plants later. I am planing on doing at setup like this one Geo System South America - Habitat 1

where can you buy fresh water fish online at wholesale prices. Brad

I have a 75g FOWLR, 55g gold fish, 38g reef, 20g south american geo system, and a 10g singe chiclid. I want to get a 4' 120g reef and when I buy a house a 2000g shark tank, I am making a breeding tank for guppys right now so I can get my eel and fu manchu Lion fish. Brad
