  1. So seeing as my 40 recently cracked I figured it would be a perfect time to set up my new 55. It will have a fluval 406 running for a filter (works out to be roughly 7x turnover if I'm right). My idea so far is: 6 juvenille Haplochromis sp. Rock Kribensis ( From what I've been reading the sex ratio should be anywhere from 1:3 or 2:4. But correct me if I'm wrong) 5 juvenille Labidochromis freiberi (Not a hundred percent on sex ratio for these guys so if anyone has experience the help would be appreciated, from what I've seen its 1:3) From what I've been reading online I should be able to put a third species in there as well but I have no idea what that should be. Thanks
  2. They honestly seem like amazing cichlids from everything I've seen. Any idea on minimum tank size? Also what should make to female ratio be like? I've seen everything from 1 m 4 f to 2 m 6 f
  3. So I ran into these little guys the other day and absolutely adore them, but as I've tried to learn more about them I've been coming across conflicting information. If anyone has any experience with them at all anything you know would be of help. Thanks
  4. My bad the pictures are in the wrong order.
  5. From what I've read the minimum is 20 but I may be wrong. But even so the pair in our 29 is perfectly happy. The 20 has plenty of hiding spots (driftwood not rock). Everything's right where it should be with ammonia nitrate and nitrite, it's a little harder than I'd like (120 for kh and gh in my test strips) and the ph is around 7. The first picture is of the pair in the 29 and the second one is of the male in the 20. I really should have got one of the female in the 20 though because she's perfectly fine with the normal colouration
  6. I'm just wondering if anyone can help me with an issue I'm having with one of my males. I currently have two separate breeding pairs, one in a 20 long and one in a 29 high, both in planted tanks (the 20 isn't super heavily planted, waiting on some things to grow a little better until I plant some more). But the issue is that my male in the 20 isn't showing colour. He generally looks pretty pale, he usually has the stripe but there is never any stress signs. Hes been in the tank since January and when we first got him he was very bright including a very dark red chin. Ill upload a picture of him compared to my other male when I have the chance.
  7. Hi everyone, So I was wondering if anyone has any experience making a spray bar for this model. I've been trying to find out information on this online and I'm having no luck. If anyone knows the dimensions for the output/intake hose ceramic connector too that would be much appreciated. Thanks
