  4. Guppy as example can delay birth few a long time . I had purchased a few female fancy guppies that where returned by the previous owner because they would not produce fry well i asked a few more question and found out that they where prego for at leats 3 months but they would not drop the fry.Upon getting them home i read some info on this and as it turns out if water chemistry is not close to what they require then they will delay there birth for as long as thye can. I always thaught that Guppies where pregnant 24/7-365days a yr....LOL But apparently they can delay dropping fry for months. If Mollies are anything like that I have no idea. Hope that helps
  5. Ha Ha :pff: funny guy Vic....LOL Ha Ha :pff: funny guy Vic....LOL
  6. the labels do get sogy and will come off in the water just take them off to begine with . Also with car parts i would not worry about the fish getting caught in the parts i would worry more about the aluminum leaking into the water as well as metal will corrode and rust in the water. But you new that right ?
  7. Id love to check it out for you but i am in Manitoba. But keep this in mind the Glass itself is worth that if not more. You could always ask him to fill it up so you could check out the tank full. But i would also offer $300 first maybe even $250-$275 Where abouts on the tank is the chip? Near the top-bottom-side-middle of glass panel But if i had an extra couple haundred kicking around i would get it. You could always sell your other tank when you find out that the big one will work and get your money back Man all the good deals are in Alberta ....LOL
  8. Nice to see the add but i still dont see a pic is there suposto be one on the add But for $350 offer $300 and take it ,if he does not want $300 still a good deal for $350. But still would like to see pics
  9. bigger is always better ...right ladies...LMAO
  10. have you seen the tank yet and if so any pics of the chip
  11. Im in a small town SOUTH WEST Manitoba (Pilot Mound) Ive been hear for two yrs and i have not found any fish people yet except 1 pond person. Kind of thinking of moving to B,C or Alberta
  12. Hey everyone Ive been on hear for a few weeks now, but i have never said hey. been into fish for 23 yrs,and various other stuff. And No i am not in Winnipeg
  13. if you use a model car use a snap together (Glue is toxic)and dont paint the car as the paint will leach out toxins into the water . I have a upside down 4x4 made for aquariums in my tank
  14. i get stuff from home hardwear it says right on the tube ideal for aquariums white tube green writing pack of three for like $6
  15. How big af a tank you have ? There are alot of fish that can live with oscars .a friend had a gold fish that lived with his oscar for 3 yrs. Pacu, irredesent sharks can get up to 2 feet.Tinfoil barbs get the same size as oscars, giant gaurami, larger pleco's dont forget the redtail cat fish. But it mostly depends on your tank size
  16. bioballs are very low maintence, sumps are great i have one on my tank rack for a 25g long and a 55g it has african clawed frogs in it and the filter is great. What price is he asking for it ?
  17. I have several tanks with chips in them but it really depends on the chip and how deep it goes where it is on the tank. Just keep this in mind 1 gallon of water weighs 10 lbs so 150 g tank will weight 1500 lbs thats just water dont forget about gravel ornaments canopy stand so i would say closer to 2000 lbs i would put it in the basement unless you want to brace up your floor with beams . If you can take a pic of the chip and let us have a look at it. Might even be worth getting the tank and replacing the glass and getting the old piece cut down past the chip and selling it or build another tank out of ply wood and using the glass that you just got cut for the front then you would have two nice big tanks . If i had that chance i would buy it What is he asking for it and what come with the tank? James
  18. I usto live out on Vancouver island and we had a local salt tank with hermits in it but they where a cold water species. Are your's a tropical or a cold water species? If they turn out to be a cold water species then that is why, warm water will kill them eventually
  19. use silicone the glue will leach out chemicals into the water
  20. well i have used the polyurathan a number of years ago with out any problems. If applied while the wood is wet the wood will still rot from the moisture traped in side. Apply the polyurathan to the Drywood (i usually used my kitchen stove to help the drying process) let the polyurathan Dry (NOT IN THE STOVE)make sure it is completly dry before submerging, But you will halfto put rocks on top of the wood as it will float and because you sealed the wood it will not get water logged and sink. I had Cichlids in with the wood for a number of years with no problem. Yes you can use untreated wood but make sure you dry it out like suggested not to high a heat. You can leave it in for a few month before you should change the wood.
  21. Yes they are easy to use Canisters are also better if you are going to have live plants. Waterfall typs disturb the water surface and realese the Co2 Gas that they need to help them flurish. Not to mention some fish do not like surface movement Not to mention canister you wont get the constant waterfall noise
  22. it says on some tubs 24 hrs but i usually wait 48 hrs. But i dont know if many people know this but if you spray water on the part or stuff you siliconed with a spray bottle it will get a skin on it and start the curing process faster. just for siliconing rocks i would just wait the 24 hrs but make sure you rinse or sook it for awhile changing the water frequently
  23. ive feed my oscars shrimp not to much mind you.
  24. discus

    Air pump?

Yes the size does matter With bigger tanks they have more water pressure that the pump has to push down . The taller the tank the bigger the pump should be.
  25. deeper is better but you will need to add more light
