Good to know about Bow Valley Aquariums, I'll have to check them out... I think I'll likely take my chances initially. I'm coming around to the idea of a open top tank. I guess only time will tell.

So, I'm about to acquire a 47 Gallon tank only thing is that it has no lid. Not a situation where there was a lid and it was lost but that tank came with no lid. I'm a little worried about fish jumping out. Does anyone see an issue with using Fiberglass Screen to create a cover that would prevent the fish from escaping the tank if they choose to jump? This would still allow me to have the "Open Concept" tank while ensuring that the fish stay where they belong, in the water. I'll post pics when I get the tank. Comments always welcome, Chris

So I ran across this site in my travels on the Internet. Up until about a month ago I had 3 cichlids in a 29g tank. Life was good then I came home one day to find 7 more, they were so small. That is what caused me to start searching the 'Net for info. So I now have a fry tank, which they will soon out grow (I'm surprised at how fast they grow) and will be looking for another tank. Anyways, I'm sure I'll find good info here along with some local resources. I call home Airdrie. ;-)
