    Hello :)

Hey my names Brandon and I live in Edmonton. I owned a fish tank when I was younger, it worked nicely until one day I was in the kitchen and I looked up and noticed there was a drop of water and it was located where my room was upstairs.Going upstairs I realized there was a hairline crack in the tank somewhere and it was slow leaking into my foundation. I ended my aquatic hobby shortly after. I decided to buy 4 red claw crabs out of random and i put them in a 10 gal tank without cycling the aquarium the nitrite spiked because I was overfeeding them and pretty much made 2 of them super messed up, I took all 4 out and put them in individual containers and gave them little bit of rocks to bask as well as some tank water i started changing the water out drastically pulling the nitrites and it would drop but spike back up, I’ve changed the way the tank looks and cleaned most the sand the best i could. one of the crabs ended up dying with a horrible chest trapdoor explosion reminded me of Aliens the movie kind of. The other one that was sick I nursed back to health and is fine and active. I know I can’t keep them in the tank for long so I’m either going to use a 36 gal long i bought the other day or a 55 gal pentagonal corner aquarium that currently has 7 goldfish in it (being moved to a 150 gal tank in a month and a half or sooner as I’m moving back into my parents house for free rent )
  3. Hey, I have kinda jumped into the brackish niche. I know red or black mangroves grow well in any s.g. Is there any other type of brackish plants, and where in Alberta (preferably near Edmonton ) can i aquire them at? I've read that you could take some freshwater plants and gradually increase the salinity does this work well? My fauna would be 3 red claw crabs (Perisesarma bidens)currently in a 10gal. Im planning for a 35gal long tank and would eventually like to add in fish but don't know if my tank has enough depth for it. I also have a 55g corner pentagonal that would make a nice riparium. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
