  1. Thanks, I enjoy watching him slowly find his way around the aquarium. My cleaner shrimp has pretty much stayed put in one spot since I got the Lionfish. I think he knows something has changed and that if he's not carefull will become a meal I've also seen the Lionfish yawn a few times. That's one impressive mouth!
  2. The other day I had thought one of my lights had burnt out on my 125 gallon. However after further observation I noticed that it would turn back on after 20 or more minutes of being off and then turn off after awhile again. This cycle continues... Would this be a problem with the ballast? Anyway I am going to find out whether it is still covered by warranty. If not I was debating just replacing the ballast (if that is the problem - I have already tried a new light and it does not solve the problem). The Ballast has the following info listed on it (it is an external ballast - ie not in fixture): Radionic Industries Class P Termally Protected CAT PT340TP (for one 30w or 40w lamp) Line volts 120 - Cycles 60 - Normal Line Amperes .67 I am using it with a T6 30w light. Where would be a good place to get a replacement ballast for that here in Edmonton? Thanks
  3. Good luck with the Trigerfish, I really like the look of the Picasso! I hear they are very personable/outgoing fish, like Oscars, but also destructive.
  4. I just got a Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish yesterday. He's got great colour, nice and red! Already eating as well, had him eating some frozen krill today I'm so excited about my new fish. I hope as he gets more comfortable in his new home, and realizes I'm the source of food, he'll become more outgoing. He looks like the Dwarf Lionfish in this link: http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http...6lr%3D%26sa%3DN Hopefully I've have the chance to take my own pictures soon

    Hello

    <--- Nuff said.
  6. Yikes.. lucky indeed. I didn't hear about that.
  7. You were already selling some!! I couldn't believe it! I ended up paying at least $4 more than I needed to... :grr: Made for good entertainment for the rest of us though Christian, I was going to introduce myself before we left for drinks, but thought you were going to make a quick stop in at the pub. Too bad you couldn't make it, but I can understand why you couldn't stick around. Oh well, I'll see you next time. -Nelson
  8. Yah, this was the second of two Electric Blues in the tank (sub-dominant male). However I sold him at the ACE auction yesterday and he went for $44!!! I was surprised, as in my opinion even though he coloured up pretty well, is not nearly as nice as the dominant male I still have.
  9. Had a great time as well. It was nice to meet you all and go out for a few drinks. I have to say though the fish started to get pretty cold out in the car, probably good thing I left when I did. Getting ready to put them in their tanks shortly
  10. Just a quick question. I had what I thought was a female Electric Blue cichlid, but over the last month "she" (probably a he) has changed dramatically. He is now a metallic blue colour with some orange on his anal fin and a white flash along his dorsal fin and a little bit on the head. Is this normal? He now looks like the larger male, except for the smaller size and not quite as elongated fins.
  11. Alright, that's made up my mind, I'm not going! :eh: Kidding I'll see you guys there.
  12. Ughh, I think I got a headache tilting my head sideways -roll- Seriously though it looks great Jason!
  13. Here are some more pictures of the fish for those of you who are interested. http://aquatic-photography.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7435
  14. I've got a bunch of small snails in my planted tank. There's not so many that they're a nuissance, but there's enough that I'm considering feeding them to my Mantis Shrimp. See if he likes them. In my experience If you don't overfeed your tank snails shouldn't be much of a problem. Mind you I don't know what kind of snails I have.
  15. Thanks guys. I've picked up one just now. I'm excited to see him colour up nicely!!
  16. I've read that this fish (Pseudotropheus polit) is a vegetarian, but was wondering if it would do well on a diet of New Life Spectrum pellets? That is what I'm feeding other fish in the same tank and they are not vegetarian. Thanks
  17. Looks Good! Nice assortment of fish you have
  18. Looks great! I really like the lavender/blue/green ones.
  19. Your ISP likely provides you with some webspace. I post most of my photos on the webspace provided by Shaw (my ISP). Instructions here for shaw webspace. All you need is an FTP program. There should be a number of free ones out there available for download.
  20. Same thing happened to one of my Plecos, jumped out the back where I had a small hole for the HOB filter. Seems like it's not such an unusual occurance.
  21. Yah, I was pretty excited when I saw it. I've seen a lot of Black Bears over the years, but this was the first Grizzly I've seen that wasn't in a zoo.
  22. It was the first time I had ever been to Cypress and wasn't quite sure what to expect. I actually preferred the scenery and hills just south/southwest of the park. Lots of farmland and hills. Ace, The macro shot was shot without tripod or flash. It was shot with my 100mm macro at 800 ISO, f5.6 and a shutter speed of 1/80th.
  23. -roll- Looks like you had a good time. Nice pictures Sean.
  24. Thanks everyone, glad you like them! ABWildrose, Having a closer look at some maps I think I somehow got onto Township Rd 74 and probably did spend a short time on Eagle Butte Road at one point, but turned back off. Anyway I knew generally which direction I was going and got there eventually. I came over on highway 61 and passed through Orion and figured I try and head east rather than take the long way around by going north or south. I joined up with highway 41 shortly before entering the park.
