IMO sand is the best, looks natural, cheap and easy to plant roots in and requires very little cleaning. Just add some malaysian trumpet snails and you are set

I came home from work this morning to about 75 fry. The mom is striped while the dad is pink. Should I assume about a 50/50 mix among the fry?

I hav about a3.5-4 inch green terror who has all of a sudden developed a jet black spot on each cheek and is become a real mean sod in the last 24hrs, attacking anything near it. Does anybody know why the black spots and sudden change in behaviour? I think my GT's are a m and f but not sure. one is larger with white edgeing on fins while smaller has orange/red on fin edges. It is the larger one than has the spots and bad attitude now. possible mating behaviour? some convicts and some hrp just spawned in same tank

I agree. I have no problems helping a person but I hate people taking advantage of others. We all work too hard to get what we have and should not have to support others who choose not to and instead expect others to just hand it to them.
