If your shopping for laminate, there are products out now that have a moisture gaurd in them. You can identify this laminate by it's green colour ( with the exception of the laminated surface ) . If you look at the mill of the laminate, you can see straight away what.... if any moisture protection is added.

My Neolamp Brevis are a close to a flesh color, and do have some irridescent highlights around the head area. Could be the lighting adding to the color enhancement your seeing. I have only seen the one variety, but it is possible that others may posess more blue coloring.
