I think im with pelle here. I mean you guys are big talkers and none of you have posted pics of your discus. I think smokey is a big talker and everything with his eventually leads into a lecture. He thinks he is hot stuff with his "bio tower" wich is nothing more than a wet dry filter. Did u also know that he is a breeder of wild altums well now theres a feat. If he an lecture us about the greatness of peat water why is so afraid of showing pictures. My tank (although is only 1) is open to anyone and you dont need to wear some rubber mask or suit becasue my fish dont get sick when others come to see them. Now smokey doesnt that excuse sound familiar. " you cant come over because my fish will get sick" fish dont get sick from human germs both u and i know that. Buck up show some pics.

If you have brown algea it is a sign of not enough light. I generaly find green algea grows when i leave my lights on but when i turn them off for a long time i get brown algea.

Well come on smokey i know u use peat water. Ya ya it is so dark you cant see the fish. So take pictures when they come to the front. You are claiming you have fish an inch think. Well prove it :mad:

I use discus essentials every once and a while. It is for RO water it replaces all the minerals that is lost. This seems to help also.

Hmm that could be tricky i am getting brow edges on my vals. It could be how the city is treating the water. I would increase the water changes. I do one every 2 days. You dont have to do it that often. Maybe 5 gallons every 3 days. See how that helps :thumbs:

Menagerie you can take videos of your fish then cut out a Frame. I dont know if this is what lips did but that is the easy way just take a 10 sec video of a fish and take out the frames you like.

O forsure i wouldnt want ur fish to get sick by me breathing in the room you know the viruses might get into the water and your discus might get the cold or a flu. lol :w00t: :smokey: Where does this buddy? live in taber??

Nah smokey i have been reaserching this stuff for a while now. Remember when i first called you i had been looking up the best ways to filter peat and what it does to your fish about about 6 months before i called. So i think i goter down pretty good. But hey rip on me if ya want i can post pics of my fish and they dont get sick if someone comes over to look at them. Everyone on this board knows ihavem u on the other hand u could be bluffing this entire thing.

No not cocky i just want to see the differences between the 2 it is hard to tell. Most people either do peat or not so they dont have both "water type raised fish. Now with the pictures it will be easier.

I want to see if it is true that discus do grow bigger in water that has been run through peat. So defend your side. Do you run clear water through no pet or Peat water. Post your discus pics to defend your side. Smokey lets see these 1 inch thick monstors you are talking about. Sorry chris if you think i am hijacking your thread here bt i have always wondered this. Do you buy bettas for looks and just place them in assorted places all around the house, or do you have a breeding facility that you are using?
