webmoose
Hey I know that moon lighting is used primarly in salt water tanks but I tried some out on my lake tang tank and man was I ever impressed with the activity and how different the fish act under the LED's... It's pretty cool. My albino bristle nose was really active and all over the place as well. My Neolamprologus leleupi were enjoying them as well The rippling of the water and the beam of light makes me think of finding nemo... Trooper
I ordered a whole bunch of LED moonlights for some of my tanks. I have yet to set them up, but I can't wait to do it. I've read that some people say it will help with breeding some species.
canucklehead
Moonlights rule, awesome for watching predatory cats hunt at night
seajays
I use Cold Cathode computer lights. They work great and are cheap.
Sam Chicklets
When I was in the hoby before i had a series of lights on timers starting and finiishing the day with low intensity lighting for an hour moving up to growlux lights and then to growlux and daylight combined for a total of 16 hours a day. I could enjoy all of my fish then and didnot have any startled fish from instantly lighting it up at full intensity.
