Toirtis
Looks like a Synodontis eupterus.
Devon
Looks like a Synodontis eupterus. That's what I thought, but a friend said: The thing making it hard to ID is the "dots" are all joined. It's also very much too bright to be Eupterus.... Unless, with size the spots seperate and make the whole fish appear much darker. Eup. is usually brown-ish with much finer and more stripes/dotting on the dorsal and tail. So that threw me off.... Have to disagree.....it is not too bright to be eupterus, and although they usually have a more fine pattern, I have seen them like this numerous times....plus the season for eupterus this size has just started, and there are tons hitting the suppliers right now. possibly Synodontis schoutedeni Possibly, but the body shape isn't quite right, and the dorsal is awfully high for schoutedeni. FishGeek
allow it a few months to drop the juvies coloration and you'll be able to tell for sure. But i would agree with Toirtis, most likely eupterus, you'll find those everywhere. I've seen the juvies vary in brightness quite a bit.
