Murminator
I'm putting a 36" long tank on a 30" stand so it hangs over 3" on each side. This should be a problem should it? I have seen 4' long tanks on cider block stands solely supported by the ends with the longspan unsupported Anyone see a problem?
Qattarra
Never a good idea with larger tanks. I'm not sure how some get away with this. Could you afford it if it doesn't hold up? Sue
Sam Chicklets
You could use the smaller stand but you really should put something like a double layer of plywood the same size as the base of the tank on it as well.

Agree with that, the ends of the tank should be supported.
Murminator
Agreed already checked the shed and I have a 3/4 plywood I'll replace the top with, then just iron on a edge strip to cover the grains
Vapor
Better safe than sorry, use some plywood underneath.
