tedfroop
Before attempting to attach my anubias to my driftwood I was wondering if, in order any of you could offer any hints as to how to attach it so it begins growing onto the driftwood quickly. Does it need ot point a specific way, should it be on top, beside, underneath? Would these instructions work for any other plants with a rhizome? werner
If there are good cracks or crevices in the wood, just stuff it in. Otherwise cotton sewing thread works well to tie it on. It will eventually break down so you don't need to remove it like a rubber band. There's no real trick to this, just put the plant right side up, it will grow. This works for anubias, java fern, etc.
jvision
I've even used rubber bands, which do dissolve. Fishing line, however, does not.
Toirtis
Cotton thread dissolves, too.
