Foam Padding

Hello i am in the midist of setting up a 187g tank and have a few questions the tank is 60L x 24W x 30T

question one can i use the pink 1" foam for under the tank or does it need to be the blue stuff?

Number two i am planing on putting around 264 lbs of sil 9 in the tank should i get some sort of foam for the bottom of the inside of the tank or should it be fine on the glass the tank is 1/2" on the sides and 5/8" on the bottom

I have two inch pink foam under my 180 gal. But I dont think the color matters.

Alot of people put egg cate in the bottoms of there tanks for protection from falling rocks.

I think this is a good idea and will be adding egg cate to my tanks in the near furture.

i used the 1inch square plastic grate that you get at home depot. the stuff used for a diffusing light. came in 6 foot by 2 foot sheets.

for like 8 bucks. and the pink foam is the exact same as the blue i think.

Those light diffusers are commonly referred to as eggcrate.
