I have 2 that are full grown . They are in a 240 gal and it works out nice for them. Don't think they are 14 inches , but are at least 12 inches. Cool fish. Everyone should have them.

Thanks guys. He is now a good 10 inches and mean. Has drew blood once now, Can not put a hand in his tank or it 's going to hurt. Have to use cleaning pads on a rod , and he just tears into them. Makes cleaning his tank a whole new experience.

WOW $90.00, thats alot. I just picked up Two for $29.99 each, and thought that was alot.

No they do not have to be cleaned more then other canisters. I just cleaned all mine , frist time in a year, and they still had lots of flow, Its all with what you put in the middle compartments. The xp3 cut to fit is a good thing, have that on a few of mine. The blue pad that they come with is the frist thing to throw away, Fill the centre with ceramic rings or pot scubbers, or XP3 pads, cut to fit. Have never had a clip come unhooked. Have never had a problem with the Drain Valves leaking. I run them on my 120 gal , my 180 gal and on my 240 gal, never had a problem. They are great. Water changes thake a bit longer then 20 mins. brcause of the tank size, but draining them takes about 5 to 10 min,s. Can not go wrong with a FX5, just wait for the right deal.

I seen them at Pet Smart in Red Deer today . NICE. but a bit more then $150.00 Should of looked closer, they seemed bigger then a 50 gal.

Maggots are cheap if you do not buy the fish bait ones in the stores. I get them for $7.00 per thousand out of Edmonton, but I do not feed them to my fish. GROSS...lol

I have 5 of them running and love them. Have had no problems in the last 4years. And they are great for water changes, makes water changes fast and easy. They are #1 in my books.

Innisfail pets have 3 of them there today. about 2 inches. Very nice, but $80.00 each. To much for me.

Can you go bigger than a 100 gals. I have two plastic stock tanks . One is about 6 feet and the other 8 or ten feet. Both are about 3 feet high and have rounded corners. The smaller one is black and the bigger one is white. The black one has a drain on the side at the bottom. Can not remember if the white has a drain, but thinking it does not. If you can use them, I will let you have what ever one for $125.00

Sorry no Teeth shots yet, but will try for some. As for a glass banger, YEP. Just hold a finger up to the glas and he goes nuts. Has not bit me yet when cleaning the tank. Came after me once and I had to chase him away with the hose and since then he has been good. Would like to find some tank mates for him, but do not know what to put with him that he would not kill.

WOW, Went downstairs tonight and there was the second female with a bunch of fry. Caught her and moved her to her own tank. This will be the last. At this rate , I will run out of room. Want to see how the next bunch will do in the main tank. Weather the male will help protect the fry. I guess time will tell

Well a big surprize tonight. One of my Rio Santa Lueia has a mouthfull of fry. Didn't think it would happen, but it has. Left the heater off all winter till this month , then set it for about 80 degrees. 50% water change per week. Well water with a ph of about 8.6 to 8.8. Was so amazed , I had to go back and sit and watch a second time. Sure enough she let them out again. Going to try and move her in the morning. Hope it works. Here we go again..lol May have to keep a tank or two I was going to sell. OH WELL..lol Sorry Honey , But ..
