jvision
I'm just setting up my 1st SW tank, and need to figure out how much IO I should add to the tank. It'll be a 37 w. a 10 gal sump.
Stacey
3 lbs. makes 10 gallons sea-water, so I'm gonna guess about 14 lbs.
bosshog
Pick up a cheap swing arm hydrometer to start out with. They'll get you close enough to start out with. They only cost about $10. You must have found some LR. Welcome to the DARKSIDE!!!!!! Brad
sharuq1
x5 1/2 cups makes 5 gals of 1.025 for me Edited January 21, 2008 by sharuq1
NatureNut
I've never had the same amount needed each time, and neither did my friend who had the tank before me on a different city water system. NO idea why. LOL She told me that if she could just put the same number of scoops in the same amount of water each time and have it work out right, she would have kept the tank... I guess I should be happy it didn't work that way for her. I've been waiting to see you heading into the salty world. Can't wait to hear what all you do with it! jvision
So, 1/4 cup per 5 gal should be close. I did find a good deal on some LR.... then I found a better deal on a full system. I'll probably be posting some of the extras that I don't need/want from the system.
sharuq1
Nope I use my 1/2 cup five times. So basically 1/2cup per gallon. Edited January 21, 2008 by sharuq1
rayfong
I know with me that it is a little bit less than half cup per gallon.
jvision
OK, found out that directions say 1/2 cup per gallon; so, I'll start w. a little less. Thanks, all!!
