farleyfish
Anyone have a suggestions on a good FS to visit while I'm in Vancouver? I may buy cichlid food and supplies for the tank if the prices are better than in Calgary.
Tanker
J&L's retail shop is just barely off the highway and really easy to find. I picked up a stealth heater there last fall for about 40% less than I buy here, and their fish room is decently sized, too.
thegrandpoohbah
J&L Aquatics and King Ed Pet Center (both technically in Burnaby) are two of my favourites. If you're in Surrey then check out Pacific Aquatics and Roger's Aquatic and Pet Supplies. There's also a couple of Big Al's in Vancouver and Richmond. Prices in Vancouver are WAY cheaper than in Calgary. Especially at J&L and King Ed. I'd stock up if I were you.
earlyriser
I second the J&L and King Ed votes. I did a full day tour of the city's stores a year ago. There is a great article on the web, a Vancouver hobbyist lists every store in the region, and even gives a brief description, and a map. I can't remember the link, but I think it's bookmarked on my home computer. I'll check after work (Google will likely do the trick tho, it may be linked to a Vancouver aquarium club website.)
