Slough Shark
The garter snake and chorus frog shots are very nice Patrick- only a solitary frog out here so far, but the others should be out soon!
catshanon
Patrick, Your shots are amazing... I make sure to see all the pics if they are taken by you. Do you have any online album where you keep all your selected shots? If so, I would love to see that. Raj.

Thanks Taylor! This is soo different from shooting fish pics. I was having a really hard time. I know where the snakes hibernate and there was three of them on the same spot, sunbathing. The frogs were tricky as they are very alert and dissapears immediately when you walk up to the ponds. I had to sit absolutely still for about 15 minutes until they came back up, both my feet fell asleep lol. What is the first frog? I looks different and sounds like a duck. Slough Shark
The first frog looks to me like a Northern Leopard Frog- which is a good thing as they are a sensitive species that has experienced a population decline. I definitely agree with you on the difference in difficulty though, they should get easier to photograph very soon once they are distracted by breeding season. Hopefully I can get my stand issues figured out and have my frog paludarium finished before the snow returns, as you seem to have figured- animals are easier to photograph in a tank lol! You seem to have a bit of wetland near your property, I would try for some of the larger waterfowl if you have any (Herons, Bitterns and such), they have always proved the most challenging for me!
