PrincessGoodey
Hi, I am fairly new to fish but have fell in love with loaches. I have 6 clown loaches in a 50 gal tropical planted tank. I recently added some new fish and apparently they brought us a present. ICH. Does anyone know how I can treat the loaches without harming them. I have heard the salt hurts them. I have turned up the temp but it doesn't appear to be helping. My water is testing fine and am still doing regular water changes. Thanks to anyone who can help. Try a product called ICH-X.. when using this product you must take out the carbon from your filtration.. It has worked for me in the past
Qattarra
How high have you turned up the heat? You could go to 82. I believe they are more sensitive to salt so I wouldn't add the 1Tbs per 5 gal I'd cut it in half to 1Tbs per 10 gal. This with extra air circulation over the next few days should do the trick . bottomdweller_fan
I too have fallen in love with loaches. Here is a great link from the Loaches Online forum that will help you with your clown loach ich problem. Good luck and enjoy those crazy loaches!! Also i dont think any one has had clown loachs and not had them get ich -roll- its one of those thing if you get a clown loach ich is not far behind.
