Erin
My husband is an electrian. And I'm planning my first nano saltwater tank. I dunno what I need but he wants to know what lights I will need so he can make it for me... He isn't crazy about my fresh water BUT IS CRAZY about my planning a saltwater nano tank. So what kind of lighting will I need ( in general) for saltwater?
rayfong
It primarily depends on what you want to keep. With a nano tank though you can get by with t5 or power compact. They should give off enough light for soft corals and some sps corals.
thegrandpoohbah
If your husband is an electrician then I'd have him build you a high output LED array fixture. There are lots of DIY plans online and the benefits will be way less heat (especially important for a nano tank), longer bulb life than any other lighting method and less energy consumption.
